Ideas

Please, feel free to propose new ideas or new features, which you desire to see in future releases of Booking Calendar Plugin.

  1. Hi,
I am hoping you will soon add a function to allow setting read-only permissions for the Bookings Listing view and the Booking Calendar Overview. On my page I need to allow the subscribers to go the Bookings pages but they should not have permission to cancel or modify other bookings. Currently there is no such possibility; once you allow a user role access to those pages they have full access. My 'workaround' was to hide the cancel and decline buttons by replacing the icons with blank ones. Not really a solution, I know...
I am using the Business Large version currently.
    Best regards,
    Markus

    • Hello.
I will add this feature to the todo list for the future updates.
      Thank you for this suggestion.

    • Hello.

At the Booking Calendar Business Large version is possible to set the capacity of the booking resource, it’s mean that your visitors can make the several reservations per the same date, in other words, the date(s) in calendar will be available until lumber of reservations per these full dates is less than capacity of the booking resource. Please note, if you will use the timeslot selection for the booking resource with capacity higher than one, so then this timeslot will be simply record as a data into DB according this booking, but will not impact to the time availability.

Please read more info about the booking resources and how to configure them here http://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-resource/

    • Hello.
Sorry, this feature is not available yet in the actual versions of Booking Calendar.

  2. I know it is suggester multiple times, but mobile app would really seal the deal with this plugin. I need a way to modify reservations on the move.

  3. At the front end, can the user search on item features within tags, categories, taxonomies in addition to price for dates and availability.  Eg looking for [category] listings of apartments within x price available for y-z dates which has [tag] air conditioning and [taxonomy] location in 'Central London' and [taxonomy] suitable for 3 persons...
    Thanks, John

    • Hello.
The search availability functionality is exist at the Booking Calendar Business Large and MultiUser versions.
You can configure the search forms at the Booking > Settings > Search page.

Please read this info about search for the specific category tag or post tags, firstly: http://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/selecting-tags-in-search-form/

Also its possible to configure the advanced fields in the search form.
For possibility to use the custom form fields from the post or page, where you are inserted the booking forms, like this:

      - property_ab (this is some parameter)
      - property_ac (number of beds)
      - property_ad (square meters)
      - ... etc...

as parameters in the search form, which will apply to the search results, you are need to have these parameters in this format (names of the custom forms have to start from "booking_" terms):

      - booking_property_ab (this is some parameter)
      - booking_property_ac (number of beds)
      - booking_property_ad (square meters)

Then inside of the search form you are need to have the selections like this:

          Number of beds:
          <select id="booking_property_ac" name="booking_property_ac">
          <option value="1">1</option>
          <option value="2">2</option>
          </select>

  5. What I could really used, as I am using this system for Lab Reservations, is a way on the Client Side to not only show the "Booked Times" but the user as well.
We have several labs and assets that we reserve throughout the district and sometimes it works out for teachers to be able to contact other teachers to discuss a reservation, trade out, collaborate, combine classes, etc.
We have used this system now for a year or two and everyone really likes the design, style, and functionality of this system.  However, if there was some way to display the user (even just a last name) of how has the asset reserved, it would be a perfect solution for us.

    • Hello.
Its possible at the update 5.0 or newer in the Booking Calendar Business Small or Booking Calendar Business Medium or in booking Calendar Business Large version for the (single booking resources capacity =1 ).
You can show booking info (name, second name, etc, who was made the booking) in the mouse over tooltip, near specific booked timeslot.
But please note this feature can impact to the performance, so we do not recommend to activate it.
If you are still want to activate it,so please open this file: ../booking/wpdev-booking.php find this code:

if (!defined('WP_BK_SHOW_INFO_IN_FORM')) define('WP_BK_SHOW_INFO_IN_FORM', false ); // This feature can impact to the performace

      and replace to this code:

if (!defined('WP_BK_SHOW_INFO_IN_FORM')) define('WP_BK_SHOW_INFO_IN_FORM', true); // This feature can impact to the performace

      Kind regards.

      • Worked like a charm!  Thanks so much!
This may be a stretch and we are more than fine now but (with supports help) I was able to replace time ranges with headings.  For example, Teachers have an option to pick from a drop down that have 1st Period, 2nd Period, etc. instead of 8:00 - 9:00.  However, when you hover your mouse over the reservation (client-side) it shows the "times" reserved.
There wouldn't be a way for the client side to show my custom headings would there?
Again, you resolved our top wish item so it's no problem if this functionality is not available.
        Thanks!

        • Hello.
You can change the title of "Booked times" on the General Booking Settings page in "Calendar" section.
          Kind regards.

          • I appreciate that but is there anyway to change how the times following the title are displayed?  For Example..  instead of 8:00-9:00 can it say 1st Period?
