  1. Hello,
    I have an issue with the capacity.
    I have a resource named Sailboat Open with 9 childs resources. So, I have an availibility of 10 on it and it shows in calendar. However, I have to books on this same day (06/25), one with 4 pax and other one with 3pax. So, 7 pax. But now, the system shows me that this day the resource is full. Maybe I misconfigured any option? I see that the second reservation has Sailboat Open resource finish at number 7. I can send you an screenshot if you need it.

      I will try to explain how the system with capacity setting is works, as detail as possible

      1) Firstly you are need to create the booking resource "test" at the Booking > Resources page.
      2) Then you are need to create the 2 child resources (during creation of the child resource, you are need to set the parent field as "test" resource) : "test1" and "test2",
      So you will have the booking resources structure like this:
      test
      - test1
      - test2

      Because you are have 2 child resources and parent resource "test", together it's generate the capacity of the parent resource "test", which is equal to 3 in our example.

      3) Now, by default the maximum number of visitors, which is allowed per resource is 1. So we will change it to 2. It's mean that per each resource (apartment), can be maximum 2 visitors.

      So we will have the structure like this:

      test. |. Max visitors = 2 |. capacity = 3
      - test1
      - test2

      In other words we are have 3 apartment, and each apartment can have maximum 2 visitors per apartment.

      4) Now important options at the general booking settings page:

      "Visitors number apply to capacity": Check this checkbox if you want that availability of the day (capacity) depends from number of selected visitors [visitors].

      1. Show at tooltip on calendar availability based on free booking resource items.
        Check maximum support of visitors at one booking resource with selected number of visitors from booking form:
      2. Show at tooltip on calendar availability based on sum number of visitors, which can be at free booking resource items.
        Check maximum support of visitors at all booking resources with selected number of visitors from booking form:

      A) If you are do not activate the "Visitors number apply to capacity" so then, during reservation process you will book only ONE available booking resource, do not depend from the any number of visitors selections in the "visitors" select box. So it's mean if you are select 1 or 2 or 5 visitors in the select box at the booking form, you will reserve only one booking resource (firstly its will be parent resource "test", during the next new (second) reservation it's will be child resource "test 1" and during third reservation you will reserve "test 2" booking resource.
      So if the "Visitors number apply to capacity" is not checked, the availability for the specific date will be 3 (based on capacity only) and during reservation process the selection number of visitors will not impact to the Availability and just will be saved as a any other field.

      B) If you will set checked the "Visitors number apply to capacity" option and activate first radio button in sub settings:

      Show at tooltip on calendar availability based on free booking resource items.
      Check maximum support of visitors at one booking resource with selected number of visitors from booking form:

      so then the Availability in the mouse over tooltip will be based on the capacity of the booking resource. So it's mean that for the free dates the availability will be show as 3, as in our previous example.

      But during reservation process, you can not select more than 2 visitors in the select box. Because each booking resource, is support only 2 visitors per resource.

      In other words, during reservation process you can reserve only 1 booking resource during one reservation, but the system is also check that the number of visitors, which you are selected in the booking form have to be not more then maximum number of visitors, which you are set at the Booking > Resource page. The availability in mouse over tooltip will be based on the capacity and in out example will be show as 3

      C) and now last variant if you are selected the bottom radios button option:

      "Show at tooltip on calendar availability based on sum number of visitors, which can be at free booking resource items.
      Check maximum support of visitors at all booking resources with selected number of visitors from booking form"

      So it's mean that availability over the specific date will be based on the capacity and number of maximum visitors per resource. In our example it's will be show as 6 ( 3*2=6).
      During reservation process the system can book several booking resources, it's will calculate the visitors, which you are select in the booking form for the each booking resource (parent or child) and number of visitors per this resource.

      So for example if you are select 3 visitors in the booking form. It's will reserve 2 booking resources. Because first resource is support 2 visitors and second is support also 2 but we are have only 1 (3-2=1), in other words one bed will be free in the second resource.

      So hope it's clear now.

      • Thank you for your detailed explanation. I read it before in your FAQ this.
        I tell my case, I am sure I have a silly thing incorect configured, but I cannot see where is.
        I have a resource with 1 visitor maximum. This resource has 6 more child resources with 1 max visitor.
        So, I have a capacity of 3 with 1 visitor maximum. right?
        In my settings I have enabled "Set capacity based on number of visitors" and selected the radio button "Display tooltip on calendar(s) to show availability based on total (fixed) number of visitors for the resource, which can be at free booking resource items"

        Then, if I book a reservation for 4 visitors I see on my booking calendar that takes the parent resource and 3 child resources. For me it is correct. So I have 3 resources free at this moment. But here is that I don't understand, so I see in my calendar the day booked. It happens when I pass the half of resurces, so if I book 2 pax, after 1 pax I see the day free and with 4 available resources.

        I hope that I have explained correctly.

          1) Relative to this: "So, I have a capacity of 3 with 1 visitor maximum. right?", no, you are having capacity of that booking resource = 7.
          Its because "parent booking resource" plus 6 "child booking resources" = 7.
          2) "Then, if I book a reservation for 4 visitors I see on my booking calendar that takes the parent resource and 3 child resources. For me it is correct" - Yes, its correct.
          3) If you see the date as booked after this, please recheck about any previous bookings on that day. May be you was previously making a bookings.
          Try to remove the selections of the times from the booking form and then make a testing again.
          If you still will have this issue, please send screenshot of the General Booking Settings page to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

          Also try to activate the showing of "Availability" in mouse over tooltip to see how its changed from each bookings.

            I've remove the time selection and now it works. So can I have time selection then? Or have I to fix it?

              Basically the times selections does not work during the bookings for booking resources with specific capacity. Please read here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#capacity

              You can use just simple selectbox (with not reserved name for timeslots), where will be "text" times selections, but its just will record to DB as option, but will not apply to availability.
              So you can use something like this: [select my_tme "10:00 - 12:00" "12:00 - 13:00"] and in the emails and content of booking fields you can have this [my_tme].

  2. You can set the booking can only be made by the logged in user (subscriber permission, for example) so as not to have to fill in any field in the form, except the period to be booked?

    • Hello.
      You can activate the "Auto-fill fields:" option in the General Booking Settings page in "Form" section.
      Its means for logged in users some fields like "Name", "Second Name", "email" will be auto filled with data from user profile.

  3. Hello,

    I have purchase the small business plugin and when I go to paste the booking calendar shortcode into my booking page I get this posted again and again above the booking content when I view the page: Warning: mktime() expects parameter 1 to be long, string given in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas02_data03/22/2649522/html/wp-content/plugins/booking.bs.5.4.2/inc/personal.php on line 2631

    Any idea what would be causing this warning to pull up?

    • Hello.
      1) Please recheck firstly that you correctly configured "[select rangetime ...]" shortcode at the Booking > Settings > Fields page. Please use shortcode generator at the right side of the Booking > Settings > Fields page for the fast and correct creation of booking form fields.

      2) Also please recheck that you correctly set "Time format" at the General Booking Settings page in "Listing of bookings" section. Please try to set some standard default value here.

  4. Hi,
    I have MultiUser version of plugin. Every admin can add his listings (as a post entry). Is it possible to automatically add resource once the listing entry is added?

    Also, how can i show automatically correct booking form for that listing?

    I've purchased the Booking calendar Business small.
    I've 2 question for you:
    1. The plugin doesn't appears on website and appears this message:

    2. Is possibile move the booking form to the right of the calendar?

    • Hello.
      1) If you was inserting into one visible page 2 booking forms (with calendars) for the same booking resource, or booking form and separately availability calendar for the same booking resource, or use booking form insertion into the page and use the widget at sidebar for calendar or booking form for the same booking resource, then calendar will not show. Please remove one shortcode or deactivate the widget at the sidebar to show only one booking form for the same booking resource in one visible page.       2) You can configure it by reseting your booking form (at the Booking > Settings > Fields page) to the "2 Columns Form template" (you can select this form template at the top toolbar at that page and then click on the "Reset" button. You will be need to click on "Save Changes" button then.

        I could move the booking form, but I can't find the other shortcode in the setting of plugin, the widget isn't available in the site. I've readed the instruction of the link that you send me but I've tried and the problem results again. Can I send you the access in a mail to check it out?

          Firstly, please try to deactivate the actul theme, and activate some default WordPress theme. Then retest it again.
          (Some themes can make the caching of the page before showing of the content, and its can be reason of the issue). In this case you need to contact the support of your actual theme to prevent such type of page caching before showing of the content.

          If you still will have this issue and can not fix it, please send just the link to the page with that booking form, then I will recheck it.

            Initially the booking form appears with the calendar then when I go on a different page and return in the page with plugin, it's disappear.

              Please try to deactivate one by one all your active plugins at the WordPress > Plugins menu. Then retest it again.

              May be there exist some conflict with some active plugin and just need to find the reason of that issue.

  6. Hello, we bought your plugin for one of our custummer and we have a problem :
    When we choose a date, the hour that gave to me is not the good one,
    for exemple
    Monday we can have 9h-10h
    Tuesday we can have 18h:20h
    and if I choos tuesday it give me 9h-10h

    I have your plugin installed on a website I made for a client which want to use Paypal as the payment solution.

    Here is every info that could be useful in order to solve his issue :
    - The client has a Paypal business account
    - The client has a Merchant ID
    - The "Paypal Pro hosted solution" Booking Calendar page is configured like this : https://puu.sh/iAm5j/8809075297.png
    (behind blue is my client's Merchant ID)

    Here is the issue :
    Whenever I try to use this payment solution, I have the following error : https://puu.sh/iAmdh/a39980bc73.png
    (it means : "Unable to process this transaction. Please pay with another card.")

    I created a special page with a special ressource on which you can test it by yourself : https://fabhouse.fr/tagada/

    I cannot find why does this happen, note that the Paypal Standard solution is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      1) The Business Small and higher versions of the Booking Calendar is support PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro Hosted Solution.

      Please note, the "PayPal Pro Hosted Solution" its does not the same as PayPal Pro. And this payment system integration available not for the all countries.

  8. Hello, the booking calendar on my website seems to be inactive? I have not used it for awhile for scheduling but now that I need to it does not respond to anything I try to do? Thanks

      1) Firstly, please try to update it to the latest update 5.4.2
      If you are using paid version of Booking Calendar, then you can request the new update of Booking Calendar on this page: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/request-update/

      2) If you still will have some issues, please try to deactivate one by one all your active plugins at the WordPress > Plugins menu. Then retest it again.
      If its not help, please deactivate your active theme and active the default wordpress theme. And then retest it again. May be there exist some conflict with some active plugin or actual theme and just need to find the reason of that issue.

      3) Otherwise, please send the link to the page with booking form, and descriptions about what exactly is not working correctly.

  9. I have the same problem. Yesterday i diddn't know what i had done. But the message's where sending again. And today no customer get's any message.
    What is the problem??

        I tried to do your soulotions. But my mail function is ok, from all the other forms i get mails. But bot from bookjng calendar. You can check it at https://www.labarceloneta.nl and then go to reservations. Hope we will find the awnser because we get daily client reservations.

        • Hello.
          Booking Calendar is sending emails using the standard wp_mail function. Which possible to override by some other plugin.
          Try to deactivate other plugins and then retest it. May be some other plugin make some conflict.

          But most probably, you will be need to use some other special mail plugin for be able to override the wp_mail WordPress function and send emails using the SMTP option. It's relative to the last option from the previous instruction at the FAQ.
