  1. Hello there,
I have just made a webpage live with an active booking calendar with Stripe as the payment gateway. It seems that people are making bookings without going through payment ...how can I stop bookings coming through without payment being made?

    Thank you

    • Hello.

Booking is created before payment process in any case.

You can activate auto cancellation of pending bookings that have no successfully paid status after specific amount of time. You can activate this option at the Booking > Settings General page in "Auto cancellation / approving" section.

So if the booking is not approved, and do not have the successfully payed status, this booking can be auto canceled after specific amount of time.

Or you can even activate to show the "Pending bookings as available dates" - you can activate this option at the Booking > Settings General page in Advanced section.

But you are need to be sure that all "good" bookings have to be approved or have the successfully payed status.

Because if you are using the PayPal standard integration and your visitors is made the payment for the booking, but do not click on the "return link" on PayPal site to your site, so Booking Calendar do not know that the payment is successful, and this booking can be auto canceled with that feature.
Stripe have to auto redirect to booking page automatically.

So sometimes its possible that the successfully payed bookings will not have this status and that's why can be auto-canceled, if you do not approve them.

Ideally (for PayPal) you will be need to activate and correctly configure the PayPal IPN system, at the Booking > Settings > Payment page and in the PayPal account. So in this case the PayPal have to send the messages directly to your booking system.

      Kind Regards.

      • Thank you for explaining.
If we set up an automated cancellations for payments not made within a certain time frame does that mean that even bookings that are made by admins will also be automatically cancelled if payment is not made within the same time frame?

        Thank you,
        Yvonne

        • Hello.
If you do NOT approve these bookings, so then yes, such bookings will be auto canceled.
          Kind Regards.

  2. Hi, I'm having an issue with my booking reservations.

My Property management system has an ICS feed I've synced with google calendar, and everything is working fine but there's a setting I might be missing and I don't know where it is...

The thing is that I have a reservation for 1 day. Starting for example from 01/01/2020 to 02/01/2020, from 15:00 to 12:00.
The booking calendar is importing the reservation but it shows it like a 2 day reservation.

Is there any setting that can be changed so the calendar doesn't show the check out date as an occupied date?

  3. Hi, just bought the personal premium license. My question: in the survey of the booking calendar the bookins is displayed with customer name, how to disable the name in the frontend survey to display only the booking itself without the name of the customer?

    • Hello.
If by "survey" you are means "timeline", so then you can deactivate showing of customer names in booking pipelines, and/or in mouse over tooltips at the Booking > Settings General page in Timeline section.
      Kind Regards.

      • In case, if you see "auto filled" form fields in the booking form, when some user is logged in into the WordPress, so then you need to deactivate the "Auto fill" form fields option at the Booking > Settings General page in form section.
        Kind Regards.

  4. Hello Support,

we are using the multidomain Version of the plugin and facing the following issue.
We are using the german language in WP.
In the backend of the Plugin, the german translation is shown.

But on the formular in the frontend, the validation messeges are still shown in english.
Is there a way to set the basic language to german? We dont use any other translations on the site. Just the german translation as default.

I did'nt find a language option in the plugin configurations.
Thank you very much in advange and best regards,
    Fred Wachs

    • Hello.
Please be sure that you have defined German language as default at the WordPress > Settings page. You need to be sure that your language have locale de_DE
and not some other, like ch_DE.
So if you was set Germ,an langue, may be you need to switch to some other German version of language and test it.

Otherwise please send the link to your page with booking form, where you are having the issue.
and send screenshot of WordPress > Settings General page. Please send all this info to support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

      Thank you.

  6. Hi,

I have a booking form with selectable start and end time (dropdown 6:00-22:00). However, if people book a resource for immediate use (by this I mean same-day use, e.g. if it is noon and people need a resource 3:00 in the afternoon), morning hours are still displayed as available in the booking form. So even though it may be noon during the booking proces, people still get the options to pick 8:00 and 9:00 etc. in the morning even though it is past these hours. Is there a way to fix this (some sort of dynamic time range) and to only show hours that has not passed yet?

Second question: I noticed if a resourced is booked e.g. 10:00-12:00 these time slots are marked with grey as unavailable, which is perfect. However, it seems like it is still possible to book the same resource in an overlapping time frame, e.g. 8:00-14:00 (resulting in a double-booking between 10:00-12:00) which is quite unfortunate. Do you have any advice regarding best practice and how to deal with this?

The use case is bike rental so I would prefer to let my users define the time range instead of locking them into e.g. 2 hour time slots (some people need bikes for more than 2 hours).

    Best regards

    • Hello.
      1) Yes its visible, but visitor can not submit for such start time that already in past. System will show warning message if selected such time.
      2) Basically its must not be so, if you will select intersected times, system have to show warning. Please test it.
      Otherwise
Can you send configuration of your booking form and send the link to your page with booking form, where you are having the issue.
Please send all this info to support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

      • Hi,

Thanks for your quick and informative reply. I only tested it in the admin panel and assumed it would show a warning there, too. Front-end displays a warning in both cases. Thanks a lot for clarifying this! It works perfect.

        Best regards

  7. Hi,

I'm using Business Medium and so far I'm really satisfied with the plugin.

However, some of my booking resources are whole days (rooms) and others are specific time slots (equipment). In the general settings I activated show "Partially booked item" in legend. However, this setting is only relevant in the booking forms with time slots (not whole days). Is there a way to override the general settings and only show "Partially booked item" in booking forms with time slots?

I was thinking of something similar to the link below with different type of days selection depending on calendar:
    https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/advanced-javascript-for-the-booking-shortcodes/

    Best regards

    • Hello.
By default its does not possible. You will be need to make customization in the PHP file.

For example if you have page, like this
      'https:server.com/page-no-times/',
      'https:server.com/page-full-days/'
where you do NOT need to show partially booked icons, then make this fix.

Please open this file ../{Booking Calendar Folder}/core/lib/wpdev-booking-class.php

( you can check how to edit files in WordPress menu in this article https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/how-edit-file-in-wp-menu/ )

      then find this code:

      $booking_legend_is_show_item_partially = get_bk_option( 'booking_legend_is_show_item_partially');

and replace it to this code:

      $booking_legend_is_show_item_partially = get_bk_option( 'booking_legend_is_show_item_partially'); $exception_pages = array( '/page-no-times/', '/page-full-days/' ); $request_uri = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; if ( strpos( $request_uri, 'booking_hash=') !== false ) { $request_uri = parse_url($request_uri); if ( ( ! empty($request_uri ) ) && ( isset($request_uri['path'] ) ) ){ $request_uri = $request_uri['path']; } else { $request_uri = $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; } } if ( in_array( $request_uri, $exception_pages ) ) $booking_legend_is_show_item_partially = 'Off';

      Of course you need to edit here $exception_pages = array( '/page-no-times/', '/page-full-days/' );
relative your real "relative" URL to your pages

Disclaimer. Unfortunately we can not start, right now, some personal customization or custom development, because almost have no free time.
Check more about new features here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/need-new-feature/
      Thank you for understanding.
Please note, if you will modify the source code of the Booking Calendar, we will not guaranteed the correct work of plugin and do not support it.

  8. Hello, thank you for a great booking plugin. There is one thing I can not figure out:

I would like it so that once a booking has been approved, if the user then edits the booking, the system would then mark the booking back to pending. Is there a setting for this?

    Thank you,
    Lindsey

    • Hello.
Sorry, this feature is not available in the plugin.
We will add this feature to the TODO list for having it in future updates of plugin, but I can not say when exactly it’s will be implemented. Thank you for understanding.
      Kind Regards.

  9. Hey

I have a business medium plan for my site.
I have the selection of the day set as ("RANGE SELECTION").
But on two booking forms out of four, I want the selection to be single day selection only.

I used the trick you have in your documentation which is to add script to the page where I have the calendar: (

    bk_days_selection_mode = 'single';

    )
but it works only when I preview it, and just once, otherwise, doesn't work. I tried changing the configuration to "single' and use the script for the other forms to make it multiple. but then the issue goes the other way " that I can only have single selection and the script doesn't do anything"

    • Hello.
How did you inserted that JavaScript code into your page ?
Can you send screenshot and send the link to your page with booking form, where you are having the issue.
Please send all this to support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

Verify parameters a lot of time.

    Have you any ideas ?

    • Hello.
Sorry, where do you have this issue ?
I do not sure that this issue relative to the Booking Calendar plugin.
