  1. Can we limit booking capacity to "members" only by forcing login before booking can be made?

    • Hello.
You can insert the booking form into the password protected page (it's standard functionality of WordPress). So your visitors will not be able to make the booking, instead of that you can write the text and link, that they need to register on your website. So then you can inform to your website registered users the password to that page(s), do your users will be able to make the bookings now.
      Kind regards.

  2. Hi there

I am using WordPress 3.8 and have Version 5.0.4 of the booking calendar installed and am using Shape5 Sports Nation Theme.

I want to display an availability calendar which begins June 2014 and displays 3 months, June, July & August 2014.
I have this short code on my page
    [booking type=1 form_type='standard' nummonths=3 startmonth='2014-06']

My calendar keeps starting at today's date, January 2014, and is displaying calendars till April 2014 in 3 month displays.
    https://cultuslakecottage.com/check-availability/
In the Booking/General settings/ I have number of months set to 3 but my calendar show 6 months and they are not even the months that I have selected to display.

Once I get this calendar to display the correct months I would like to be able to block out particular dates.
Where and how can I block out dates?

    Thank you
    Denise

    • Hello.
The booking shortcode is seems correct.
      1) You are need to open the General Booking Settings page, and in the "Calendar section set the "Number of month" as 9 or 10 (its the full number of months, which possible to show or scroll in the calendar).
      2) The possibility to set the specific dates as unavailable is possible at the Booking Calendar Business Medium and higher versions. you can define the dates as season filters at the Booking > Resources > Filters page and then set them as unavailable for the specific booking resource at the Booking > Resources > Availability page.
      Kind regards.

  3. Need assistance with setting available hours. Can it only be done with shortcode?
Also having difficulty displaying calendar with someone coming to the scheduling page.

Can email notification only be set up by purchasing? Is it possible to test before that?

    • Hello.
the possibility to book for the specific time slots is possible only in the Booking Calendar Business Small / Medium versions.
You can configure the timeslots (as shortcodes) at the Booking > Settings > Fields page in admin panel. You can use the shortcode generation at the right side of that page to generate the correct time shortcode. Please read more about the booking form fields (and time slots) configuration here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-form-fields/
The paid version of the Booking Calendar do not have the trials. You can test Booking Calendar live demos at this page https://wpbookingcalendar.com/demo/ to be sure in functionality and do not have misunderstanding.

  4. We have the Business Small version and are trying to have 2 bookings for the same resource on the same day, but at different times. Each booking has a start and end time that don't clash, however we get the error "Warning! The resource was not changed. Current dates are already booked there."
We do not have specific time slots to book, just start and end times.
How can we get this to work? Can it be done with this version or a different one?

    • Hello.
Please recheck that you was used the [starttime] and [endtime] shortcodes (or [select starttime default:13:00 "11:00" "13:00" "15:00"] and [select endtime default:13:00 "13:00" "15:00" "17:00"]) in your booking form at the Booking > Settings > Fields page and do not have any mistakes in these shortcodes.
Also please recheck at the General Booking Settings page that you was not activated the "Using check in/out" times" at the calendar section.

Also if you are selected the toady date for the booking, and set some start time to book, please rechek that its was not in the past relative to the "Timezone", which you are set at the WordPress > Settings > General page.
      Kind regards.

      • Yes, we are definitely using [starttime] and [endtime]. Here is the code we are using for these two fields for you to check:
        <p>Start Time (required): [select* starttime class:span1 default:09:00 "09:00" "09:30" "10:00" "10:30" "11:00" "11:30" "12:00" "12:30" "13:00" "13:30" "14:00" "14:30" "15:00" "15:30" "16:00" "16:30" "17:00" "17:30" "18:00" "18:30" "19:00" "19:30" "20:00"]</p>
        <p>End Time (required): [select* endtime class:span1 default:10:00 "10:00" "10:30" "11:00" "11:30" "12:00" "12:30" "13:00" "13:30" "14:00" "14:30" "15:00" "15:30" "16:00" "16:30" "17:00" "17:30" "18:00" "18:30" "19:00" "19:30" "20:00" "20:30" "21:00" "21:30" "22:00"]</p>
I have also checked the settings and using check in/out is not activated. Both events are in the future.

        • Hello.
Can you send the link to the page, where you are have this issue?
          Kind regards.

          • The public form is https://www.woodleyhillhouse.org.uk/contact/
The error occurs on the admin pages. If required, what is the best way to privately send you a login to check?

            • Hello.
Please send the temporary login to this email: support @ wpbookingcalendar.com
              Kind regards.

  5. I am using small business version and try to setup a conference room booking. As far as I understood, my favorite use case is not possible to implement - please let me know if I can implement it with small business otherways or if I can implement updating to another version.
Use case as follows (that is how it should be):
    - user views calendar with all conference rooms and sees availability of all rooms
    - user now selects room for the specific date he wants to book OR selects date first and sees list of available rooms
    - user makes booking
    > the important fact is that there is only one calendar on the page but showing all (approx. 10) ressources
Workaround currently implemented:- ressouces are listed on a page
    - for each ressource, there is a availability calender
    > the page unfortunately gets quite confusing with so many calendars listed
Did I miss a clever functionality to build my use case, or can I build it with another version of the plugin?

    Thanks

    • Hello.
Unfortunately, at the front-end side is not possible to show one calendar with all booking resources inside (like in admin panel). You can insert the several booking calendars for the each of your booking resources (rooms) or you can insert the booking select shortcode (like in this example: https://bm.wpbookingcalendar.com/select-resource-2/ ). Please read how manually to configure Booking Calendar shortcodes here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-shortcodes/

At the Booking Calendar Business Large version is exist a little different workflow, where is possible to make several reservations per specific FULL date(s) by visitors (not time slots). At this version is possible to set capacity of the booking resource, so date(s) in calendar will be available until number of reservations is less then capacity of the booking resource. But in this version is possible to make reservation only for FULL date, not a time slots (time slots in this version only record data in the DB, but do not play any logic in reservation). The "child" booking resources (rooms), are assigned automatically for the specific booking, based on the priority. Please read more info about the booking resources and how to configure them here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-resource/
You can test it at the live demo of this version.
      Kind regards.

  6. Hi, we are using a custom form for one of our booking pages: [bookingselect label='Please select' form_type='2-step form' nummonths=1 type='13,14']
And the "Content of booking fields" is setup in the custom "2-step form", however on the booking_summary_data page it is showing the "Content of booking fields" from the "Standard" form, not our "2-step form"?

    • Hello.
Please recheck that you was assign this custom form "as default" to the booking resources, which you are using in that page.
      Kind regards.

      • Thanks, sorry if I've misunderstood. Yes we are using the [bookingselect label='Please select' form_type='2-step form' nummonths=1 type='13,14'] in the page and the correct form is showing.
But once you fill in the form and the summary page is shown, the ”Content of booking fields” from the “Standard” form is shown, not our custom “2-step form” -> "Content of booking fields"? How do we set "As default"?

        • Hello.
Please open the Booking > Resources page, there in the 5th column you can assign for the specific booking resource the "custom form" as default.
So in the Booking Listing page and in the email templates you will see the "Content of booking fields" customization of this "custom booking form", which you are set as default in the Booking > Resources page.
          Kind regards.

  7. Hi, we bought your plugin a few days ago. We do have a problem with french translation.
wp config file specifies: lang fr FR, that's ok.
when i go to Booking > config > fields > i have this at the beginning: "[calendar] [lang=fr_FR]"
but still, form remains in english.
do i have to translate it from scratch?
    nicolas

    • Hello.
If you are have only one active langues - French, so you do not use any language shartcodes (like [lang=fr_FR]) in the Booking > Settings > Fields page. You just need to have one standard booking form configuration in French language.

If you have the several langues at your website, so then you are need to configure your booking form (at the Booking > Settings > Fields page) in several languages. Please note, the English configuration of the booking form must be at the top (first), so your booking form can look like this:
      [calendar] <p>First Name (required): [text* name] </p> <p>Last Name (required): [text* secondname] </p> <p>Email (required): [email* email] </p> <p>Visitors: [select visitors "1" "2" "3" "4"]</p> <p>Details: [textarea details] </p> <p>[submit "Send"]</p> [lang=fr_FR] [calendar] <p>Prénom (obligatoire): [text* name] </p> <p>Deuxième prénom (requis) [text* secondname] </p> <p>Email (obligatoire) [email* email] </p> <p>Visiteurs : [select visitors "1" "2" "3" "4"]</p> <p>Détails : [textarea details] </p> <p>[submit "Envoyer"]</p>

  8. Hi, antoher question about PayPal.
I only use the PayPal payment option at my site. Right now I have the situation that some customers do not use the PayPal button at the end of the booking process.
I activated the "Automatically approve/cancel booking" option at the paypal settings but this will not work becuase the customer never reaches the correct payment page at PayPal. Is it somehow possible to implement a redirect after finishing the booking process at the webpage automatically to paypal?
Or is there antoher way to verify that a payment was made or cancelled so that the related booking will be approved or canceled.
    Thx for your help.
    R.S.V.P.
    Best regards,

    Max

    • Hello.
At the actul versions is exist 2 possibilities.

The approve/decline process of the specific booking is possible, when you are configure the return link at the Booking > Settings > Payment page and only if the visitor click at the "Return to the site" link after he made the payment at the paypal site. If the visitor, who made the booking, just close the payment page without clicking on the return link, so auto approve feature will not work, because in this case the system will not know anything about the status of the payment, the same situation will be if visitor do not click on the "Pay now" button of PayPal system. In the last situation, if you activated the "auto cancel" functionality of "pending" not successfully paid bookings after specific period of time (at the General Booking Settings page), these bookings will be cancel.

Unfortunately, its not possible to set the auto-redirection to the PayPal website, after visitor click on "Book now" button in the actual versions, yet.

Also you can configure the Booking > Settings > Payment page at the Paypal > IPN sub page the possibility to notify your booking system from the paypal site about the status of payment process at the Paypal independently . So Paypal system will be send the messages to your booking system if some payment status is changed. You are need to configure correctly all parameters of the IPN at the Booking > Settings > Payment page according your setting in the PayPal account.
If the payment status is SUCCESS and you are have activated the "auto approve" function for the payed OK booking at the settings, so then the booking will be auto approved.

      Kind regards

      • Thx for the reply, but the second solution seams not to work. I put up the IPN in PayPal and the booking module. Then I tried to make a reservation, entered correct values and as a last step I pushed the PayPal button.
After that I was redirected to the PayPal site which I closed immediatly (pretending to abort the payment).
Nevertheless I got a confirmation email that my booking was received and automatically approved. I checked the booking calendar and the test booking was fully accepted.
This has to be changed immediatly because otherwise this module is useless. Confirmation and approval should be send after confirmed payment (and not before like it is now!).
Any idea how to change that?
        Thanks,

        Max

P.S.: I checked the PayPal IPN log and there are actually no entries.

P.P.S.: At Booking ->Settings -> Payments -> PayPal -> IPN ... which email adress should I enter? The paypal adress or the booking admin adress?

        • Hello.
Please open the general booking settings page and recheck that this option "Auto approve all new bookings" is UNCHECKED at the auto approve/cancel section in that page. Otherwise all income bookings will be automatically approved.

          • Hi,
Okay, i removed the auto-approve option now and will test it.

Can you please answer my seconde P.S. question as well? Which email adress should I put into the IPN fields? PayPal account or booking adress?

            • Hello.
You can use there any email. It's just for receiving notifications from the IPN system.

  9. Hello,
My client would like to configure the plugin so that site visitors can only book week long events (Sat to Sat) but administrators are able to book short breaks (e.g. Fri - Sun etc.).  I can configure it so that all can book Sat-Sat, is it possible for admin to book short breaks without letting site visitors?
    Thanks,
    Gareth

  10. Can i change "Please select the resource:" to "Please select the room:" ?
    Thanks,
