  1. Hello,
    I am currently looking at options for our online booking system.  We currently are using a MySQL and PHP custom coded option but are looking for something else.  There is a requirement that we need though and wanted to check if it is a possibility before looking further into your product.
    We run school field trips and different events where there is a maximum of say 200 people (kids and adults) per hour slot.  Is there the ability to have the booking system take the input from a custom required field of "Adults" and "Children" and calculate the total amount for the given time frame?  This will allow the customer to either book their reservation if the available space is open or tell them the time slot they selected does not have enough available slots and pick another time.

      Unfortunately, if you are need to make the several reservations per the same timeslot at same date, so its not possible in any versions of Booking Calendar.

      At the Booking Calendar Business Small and Business Medium versions are possible to make the bookings for the specific time slot.
      Please note, if some visitor will reserve the specific time slot at selected date at specific booking resource (calendar), this timeslot become unavailable for the other visitors at this selected date in this booking resource.

      At the Booking Calendar Business Large version is possible to set the capacity of the booking resource, it’s mean that your visitors can make the several reservations per the same date, in other words, the date(s) in calendar will be available until lumber of reservations per these full dates is less than capacity of the booking resource. Please note, if you will use the timeslot selection for the booking resource with capacity higher than one, so then this timeslot will be simply record as a data into DB according this booking, but will not impact to the time availability.

      Suggestion! I can suggest that you can create the booking resource with specific capacity for the each of your times and then have the independent own calendar for the each of your time slot for the reservation. Its mean that your visitors firstly, need to select the times in the selectbox, and only after that select the date and fill the booking form.     I want to know how to set up configurations so you can have two bookings on the same day as the resource is released at 10.00 as check-out and then has to be booked for the night.

    • Hello.
      As far as I am understood you need to have the same "change over" date for the 2 different bookings.
      This feature available in the Booking Calendar Business Small and higher versions.
      You need to open the General Booking Settings page and activate the "Using Check In/Out times" and then set the "Check in" time as "14:00" and "Check out" time as "12:00" (or some other values). And then update the settings.
      Now you will be able to use the same date as Check In and Check Out dates for the different bookings.

  3. Hi, I would like to ask something about the status of a booking.
    Let's say a customer books a resource. Is there a way that the admin could see a sort of 'pre-booked' status of the resource? Example: suppose there are two different clients trying to book the same resource. The site admin receives the first booking and doesn't accept it. Later another booking for the same resource arrives and the site admin sees that the resource is in this 'pre-booked' status already and could decide whether to assign it to the first or second customer.
    Until the site admin doesn't accept the booking the resource is seen as free by an external customer. Is this correct?

    • I need to ask one more thing about the above question.
      What I'd like to have is a way to receive an automatic email from the customer that puts the selected resource in this 'pre-booked' status for the amount of days requested by the customer.
      When the site admin decides to which customer the resource will be assigned, he will send an email to him and mark through the control panel the resource as booked.

      • Hello.
        The similar functionality exist in the Business Large version.
        In this version you can activate showing all "pending days" (it's mean do not approved bookings) in calendar as available days. So visitor can make unlimited number of bookings for the days, where administrator do not approve any bookings. If the administrator will approve specific booking, then other visitors can not make the bookings on this date anymore and all other (previous pension ) bookings for the same date can be automatically canceled (or just stay as they was).
        So you can activate this option at the general booking settings page in advanced section of Business Large version.

        • Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, I have a Business Large install.
          In the Booking settings "Use pending days as available:" is the checkbox to be checked in order to see the days still available in spite of an already received booking request by a client, correct?
          When I try to book a resource after filling the forms (staying days, name, email, address...) I am redirected to a PAY NOW button (via PayPal) that if pressed begins the payment transaction.
          I would like to keep things simpler however. I'd like the customer to contact me directly with a private email indicating the days and the number of guests for a specific resource AND ALSO have a procedure generated by your Booking plugin that after filling the form (stayng days, name, email...) automatically puts the resource in this 'pending status', waiting for my confirm through the admin panel.
          How could I confirm the booking later?

          • Hello.
            1) Yes, you need to make that checkbox on the general booking settings page as checked.
            2) you can deactivate all payment forms on the Settings payment page to not show the pay now buttons after the booking.
            3) you can approve the new booking on the Booking Listing page in your admin panel.

            • Hi, while I was waiting for your reply I managed to decline and approve some bookings as well as seeing the 'pending' status.
              Once the booking is confirmed via admin panel, shoudn't I see the days of my booking in the 'booked' status on the calendar? Or shouldn't I see the resource as 'pending' (I am speaking as if I were a customer looking at the resource which has been booked by another customer).

              • Hello.
                Fitstly let say, that we are speaking about the "single booking resource", where capacity = 1, otherwise the days in this resource (calendar) will be available based on the capacity and availability per specific days. Please read more info about the booking resources and how to configure them here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-resource/

                So now if you will not set checked this option "Use pending days as available", then all pending and approved bookings, in the calendar will be as "unavailable days in calendar.

                If you will set checked this option "Use pending days as available", then all approved bookings, in the calendar will be as "unavailable days in calendar, but any pending bookings (of not approved days) will be showing as available days for the booking.

                • Clear. Now I filled the resource capacity and it is not available anymore. Thanks.
                  But one booking is approved and the other is pending (the resource capacity = 2). Why am I seeing the whole resource as booked then? Shouldn't I see the day colored with the PENDING color status?

                    Please recheck that there was no any other bookings for those days, and also please recheck your booking resources configuration. If you still will have this issue, please sent the screenshots of the booking listing page with those bookings, and the general booking settings page and the resources page and link to the page with that booking form to the support email: support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

  5. Hi there, I have some questions about translations (WP 3.8.1, Booking Calendar 5.1.1 Businees Large).
    1) I have WPML installed and all my property posts come in 2 two versions: Italian and English. When I insert the booking form shortcode in the English post for a booking resource, should I insert the same shortcode in the Italian translation also? Wouldn't this create conflicts in the booking if an Italian and an English customer book at the same time the same resource?
     
    2) As I have WPML installed, how should I handle the translation if the status of the dates (booked, pending...), the month and the title of the booking forms (name, email, address...) in the booking form? And in the search form?

    • I just to add to my previous request that I read in the FAQ about the plugin translation with WPML and LOCALE.
      I scanned for the strings in the booking plugin with the WPML String Translation and I successfully translated the word SEARCH of the button in the search form. I couldn't translate the title of the search form however.
      In Booking>Settings>Search I have something like this:
       
      <h3>Search for apartments</h3><br />
      <label>Check-in:</label> [search_check_in]
      <label>Check-out:</label> [search_check_out]
      <label>Number of visitors:</label> [search_visitors] <br />
      [search_button]
       
      Even if add the [lang=it_IT] locale snippet like

      it isn't working. What am I getting wrong?

            • Thanks, but the menu is created by the WP theme and features 4 links to anchors in the page. I found the php code where the menu is created and I'd like to insert the check of the shortcode existence there in order to include also the 5th anchor to the calendar (if present in the page).

                If you are inserting into the post (for example the URL to this page is https://server.com/bookingpage/ ) the booking form (for example for the booking resource with ID = 3) and you need to have some link, which will scroll to the calendar, during opening this page, then you need to use the link in format like this:
                https://server.com/bookingpage/#bklnk3
                Where 3 in this parameter "bklnk3" mean the booking resource with ID = 3.

                If you need to have some more complex functionality to show ot do not show the booking form, you can make this customization in the ../booking/lib/wpdev-booking-class.php file inside of the function:
                function add_booking_form_action($bk_type =1, $cal_count =1, $is_echo = 1, $my_booking_form = 'standard', $my_selected_dates_without_calendar = '', $start_month_calendar = false, $bk_otions=array() ) {

                  • Hello.
                    By default such type of functionality does not exist in Booking Calendar versions. So its depend from you.
                    One of such solutions, will be detection of the page, which are loading and then depend of the your rule (you need to know the structure of the URL of pages, where you insrted the booking forms, for example it can be some term like "bookingpage" in the url of the pages. Example: https://www.myserver.com/bookingpage/somepage/ ) to insert that code or does not:
                    if ( in_array( $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], array( '/bookingpage/', '/bookingpage2/' ) ) ) { // Your code with anchor here ... }

                      I was thinking of detecting the STRING of the shortcode inside the post content:

    • Hello.
      1) Yes, you have to insert the booking shortcode into the both posts.
      And yes its possible such type of conflict if the 2 visitors will make the same date in the same time on the same resource. Unfortunately this issue will be exist, even if you will use only 1 page for that booking resource. If the one visitor open this page and then other visitor later open the same page, but the first visitor do not make the booking yet, and then both these visitors can make the booking for the same date. Its because the Booking Calendar checking the availability on the moment of loading page and not during submitting of the booking. Its known issue and we will fix it in future updates.
      2) Booking Calendar is supported WPML and qTranslate plugins for dynamic changing of website locale.
      Usage:
      [lang=LOCALE] - start new translation section in specific language, where LOCALE - locale of the translation. Example:
      Thank you for your booking.[lang=fr_FR]Je vous remercie de votre reservation. - English and French translation Example of configuration booking form in English and French languages at the Booking > Settings > Fields page.

      In the same way you can configure the calendar labels, search form, etc...

      P.S. I would really recommend to update your version of Booking Calendar to the latest version 5.1.2 This update was have some fixing for the translation system.

  6. Hi there, My costumer bough a license of your product but he´s using another booking system at the same time and he would like to temporarily disable new reservations when his other system books all resources. Is this possible??

    • Hello.
      Unfortunately the Booking Calendar have no integrations with other booking systems.
      In the Booking Calendar Business Medium version you can define these dates as season filters n the Booking > Resources > Filters page and then set these dates for the specific booking resources as unavailable on the Booking > Resources > Availability page.

  7. The booking calendar on my site does not show the background color for every other week making it difficult to read the dates or tell if something has been booked on those weeks. It worked well at first. I am using the Personal edition.

  8. Hi there. Is there a way to bulk edit resourses´ availability??  I thought that I could do so by editing the parent resource availability but there are no changes in the other resources

    • Hello.

      Yes its possible since update 5.0 in the Booking Calendar versions.

      You need to select the several booking resources (by checking the checkboxes on the left side at the Booking > Resources > Availability page or on the Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page (if you editing the rates)), then click on the "Availability" button of one selected booking resource. Now you be able to edit availability for the all selected resources.

  9. Hi there, I have WP 3.8.1 and BC Business LArge 5.1.1 installed.
    I put the search form as a widget in the sidebar of my site. The widget configuration said that I should add the URL of a page to display the search results, so did I. This result page is in English, but also has its Italian translation (I have WPML plugin installed). How could I display the correct search results page when I make a search from the English or Italian version of the site?
    I mean, I'd like to land on the Italian search results page when I search for apartments in Italian and on the English one whern I search in English. The widget however lets le choose one URL only.

      Usually its requires to configure 2 search widgets (one per specific language).
      But in this case your theme need to know where to show specific widget.
      Otherwise please try to make this fix.

      • Hi, I inserted the php code in the wpdev_get_booking_search_form inside biz_l.php and I also changed the URL in the widget search form like you suggested (https://www.myserver.com/search-results[lang=it_IT]https://www.myserver.com/it/risultati-ricerca/). As you can see, I don't have EN in the URL for the English version of the site.
        However, it is not working because the URL breaks somehow the html code and I see below the search button in the form these lines:
         
        https://www.novecentocase.com/it/risultati-ricerca/" noresultstitle="" searchresultstitle="" ]
         
        Also, when I land to the search results page, I see BOOK NOW in the button: but I need PRENOTA ORA in Italian if I make a search in Italian. How could I change the button text?

          1) Please send the link to the page with search form.
          2) You need to configure the search results form on the Booking > Settings > Search page in the same way as you was created the search form here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/support/comment-page-225/#comment-8259 (firstly the search form for the English version, then language shortcode and then the Italian search result section.

    I bought a medium business version and now I am struggling a bit with the configuration.
     
    Could you please help me withe the time slots and payment?
     
    1.I need several time options to choose for booking

    • multiple days (up to 3 weeks)
    OR
    • 2h (09.00am - 08.00pm)
    OR
    • 1/2 day
    OR
    • full day
    OR
    • 24h

    Just until now I created a [rangetime] from 9 AM to 8 PM with 2h slots to choose.
    But I could not find out how to disable this if I want to choose one or several days from the calendar? Every time I choose several days from the calendar the slot ist automaytically calculated?
     
    2. Checkout with summary but without payment?
    How can I deactivate the payment option but still see the total amount of the booking after clicking the submit button?I deactivated paypal but then the total amount vanishes also…

      1) You can configure the timeslots in way like this:

      Select time: [select rangetime "10:00 AM - 12:00 PM@@10:00 - 12:00" "12:00 PM - 02:00 PM@@12:00 - 14:00" "02:00 PM - 04:00 PM@@14:00 - 16:00" "04:00 PM - 06:00 PM@@16:00 - 18:00" "06:00 PM - 08:00 PM@@18:00 - 20:00" "First part of day@@00:01 - 12:00" "Second part of day@@12:00 - 23:59" "Full day@@00:00 - 23:59"]

      Last 3 options " will mean booking of the half of day or full day.

      You need to check 2 other important options, which relative to the times, on the General Booking Settings page.

      "Use time selections as recurrent time slots:" - If you check this box you will use recurrent time to reserve several days. This means that middle days will be partially booked by actual times, otherwise the time in the booking form will be used as check-in/check-out time for the first and last day of the reservation.

      Probably you need to leave this option unchecked. Please note, this option hidden, if you set single day selection mode.

      "Time impact to cost:" - If you check this box your time selection on the booking form applied to the cost calculation.

      Please retest your configurations with these configurations to feel the difference.

      2) You can disable all payment systems on the Booking > Settings > Payment page to not show the "Payment form" after you submit the booking. Instead of that you can use this shortcode on the Booking > Settings > Fields page:

      [cost_hint] - Full cost of booking

      to show the cost of the actual booking.

        But I am afraid I am still stuck.
        I tried several combinations but nothing works for my needs.
        I need to set up a bycicle rental.
        3 types of bikes

        • 3 basic prices

        11 time slots including hours, days, weeks (with different prices)

        • 2  hrs
        • half day
        • 1 day
        • 24 hours
        • 3 days
        • …
        • 3 weeks

        then I have add-ons like insurance, helmets…
        this one seems easy, I just created a dropdown and fixed a price
         
        But I can't figure out how to connect all those components.
        I thought the process could be like

         choose 1 or several days (still no price here as there was no choice of bike)
        choose a bike model => price is calculated (bike models are in dropdown lists and you can choose up to 10 bikes of the same model)
        choose add-ons
        get full amount

        I thought this could work by giving the drop-downs a default value of 0,
        but now nothing works any more.
        So maybe my basic approach is completely wrong? 
        I would really appreciate your help.

          1) Firstly you need to have the selections of the specific booking resource (Bike) (like in this example: https://bm.wpbookingcalendar.com/select-resource-2/, you can read more how to insert and configure the booking shortcode into the post or page here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/inserting-booking-form/ ).
          Then you can select one or more days in specific calendar( which belong to the specific resource) then you can select the additional options in the booking form (checkboxes, selectboxes), which also can impact to the final cost.

          2) Here is one restrictions. You are try to make the bookings for the specific times (its possible to make in the Booking Calendar Business Small, Booking Calendar Business Medium versions and in the Booking Calendar Business Large version only for the single booking resources (capacity=1) ). If you are making the bookings for the specific times, then this timeslot become unavailable in the calendar for the other visitors, and its does not possible to select multiple booking resources (bikes) to book in this situation.

          In the Booking Calendar Business Large version, possible to make several reservations per specific FULL date(s) by visitors (not time slots). At this version is possible to set capacity of the booking resource, so date(s) in calendar will be available until number of reservations is less then capacity of the booking resource.But in this version is possible to make reservation only for FULL date, not a time slots (time slots in this version only record data in the DB, but do not play any logic in reservation).           3) Now about the cost configuration. Because you need to configure the additional cost for the selecttion options in booking form, I can suggest that you are using the Booking Calendar Business Medium version or Booking Calendar Business Large version.

          Firstly you need to define the standard cost per day for the specific booking resource on the Booking > Resources page. Then you need to open the General Booking Settings page and in the cost section set the option "time impact" to the cost checked. Its mean that if you select 1 day and specific timeslot, then the cost will be calculated based on this rule: = (1 day cost) / 24 * ( number of selected hours in timeslot).

            The day rate for the bike is 12€

              So
              my day base rate is 12€
              But I want a 2h rate of 6€, so I tried to change the percentage of the time slot,
              but this has absolutely no effect!

                Please open the general booking settings page and in the cost section please set as checked "Time impact to cost" option.
                Then try to test it. Also please the different percentage for the time selections at the Advanced cost section.

                  the option is checked but changing percentage in the time slot still has no effect.
                  For advanced cost sections percentage and/or fixed costs work fine.
