  1. I want to charge a "fixed" amount and have changed settings to suit but need to alter the amount to suit my needs.
can you advise on how I might do this

    • Hello.
If you set cost at the General Booking Settings page as "fixed cost". So then you can set the amount, that will be show for specific booking resource at the Booking > Resources page. Please note, in this case evry booking for the same booking resources will have the same cost - this fixed cost.
      Kind Regards.

  2. I am using the small business version and want to know how the price per resource is calculated and then maybe change the price to reflect a 25% deposit.

If you can advise I would be most grateful.

    Thank you

    John

    • Hello.

In the Booking Calendar Business Small version, you can set cost per 1 day, per 1 night, per 1 hour or fixed cost at the General Booking Settings page in cost section. And then set specific amount for specific booking resources at the Booking > Resources page.

If you want to show for the visitors at the front-end payment part of the total booking sum, - payment deposit, then you need to check the Booking Calendar Business Medium or higher versions. Please read more about this feature here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#deposit

PS You can make upgrade to the higher version of Booking Calendar from your exist version by clicking on "Upgrade" link at the top right side of General Booking Settings page in your admin panel.
      Kind Regards.

  3. Hello.
    I have bought Business Small.

I cannot send a payment reminder to my customers.. Its just loading?? Why does it not work.

    • Hello.
If you was asking about sending payment request, and its does not open the popup dialog at the admin panel after clicking on that link or you have some other issue, then probably there is exist some JavaScript error.
Please try to deactivate one by one all your active plugins at the WordPress > Plugins menu. Then retest it again.
If its not help, please deactivate your active theme and active the default WordPress theme. And then retest it again. May be there exist some conflict with some active plugin or actual theme and just need to find the reason of that issue.

Please check also info about configurations of the link in payment request email here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/configure-editing-cancel-payment-bookings-for-visitors/
      Kind Regards.

  4. Hi,
I'm using the business large version and for bookings which are 14 days ahead of current date I've configured a down payment of 30%.

On the payment page for the customer I can see the correct down payment amount, but not the total amount. Is there a possibility to show both amounts?

On the admin booking detailed page I only see the down payment amount as well. This is very confusing, as there is no indication at all if this is a full amount or down payment amount. Any chance/idea on how to change that?

    Thanks, Chris

    • Hello.
      1) Its possible in the new update 5.4 of Booking Calendar Business Medium or higher versions to show both the deposit and full cost payment forms.

In these versions you will be need to make small customization for have this feature.

Please open this file ../{Booking Calendar Folder}/lib/wpbc-constants.pjp

      then find this code:

      if (!defined('WP_BK_SHOW_DEPOSIT_AND_TOTAL_PAYMENT')) define('WP_BK_SHOW_DEPOSIT_AND_TOTAL_PAYMENT', false );

and replace it to this code:

      if (!defined('WP_BK_SHOW_DEPOSIT_AND_TOTAL_PAYMENT')) define('WP_BK_SHOW_DEPOSIT_AND_TOTAL_PAYMENT', true );

Its will activate showing both deposit and total cost payment forms, after visitor submit booking.

Important! Please note, in this case at admin panel for booking will be saved deposit cost and notes about deposit, do not depend from the visitor choice of this payment, even if the visitor will make payment of full amount.
So you need to check each such payment manually in your he payment gateway account.

      2) You can see the details about the total cost of the booking, balance and deposit payment at the "Notes" section near each specific booking. Please click on the "Note" button near specific booking and you will see this info.

      3) Here is little instruction about deposit configuration and sending payment request for the rest of the sum.

Please read firstly this article about the correct configuration of the "payment link" :
      https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/configure-editing-cancel-payment-bookings-for-visitors/

Then open the Booking > Settings > Emails page and configure and set active the "Payment request" email.

Now open the General Booking Settings page and set checked this option: "Deposit payment:" at the "Costs" section.
You can open the Booking > Resources >Cost and rates page and by clicking the"Deposit amount" button configure the deposit amount value.
This cost will be show in the payment form, after visitor is made the reservation. So probably its cost will be smaller than full amount. And your visitors can make the payment of that amount.
At the admin panel at the booking listing page for the specific booking you will see in the cost field the FULL cost, but inside of the "notes section" (you can activate it by pressing the note button at the right side of the each section), you will see the description similar to this:
      Total cost: $135.00 /deposit:$54.00, balance: $81.00/ - 11.11.2015

If you are want to request from the visitor to pay the rest of the sum, you are need to make these steps:
      1) Edit the cost of the booking, and enter the sum, which will show at the payment form. You are need to change the cost and then press the save button to save the new cost.
      2) Press the send payment request button to send the email with link to the payment form for the specific booking.

Hope it's info will be useful for you.

      Kind Regards.

      • Hi,

thanks for the answer. On point 1) I was looking for an additional "field" like the [cost] field. Is there a [deposit] field? With your solution, the payments are just doubled and it's rather confusing for the customer, as there is no extra text to be entered for the payment.

        Thanks, Chris

        • Hello.
You can enter the additional text in the popup dialog when you clicked on the "Payment request button". In the email template at the Booking > Settings > Emails page you can use this shortcode: [paymentreason].
So, its means that the [cost] shortcode in the Payment request will show actual (edited) cost of the booking, but the [content], shortcode will show all previous booking details.
That's why please try to use instead of the [content] shortcode in the payment request email template at the Booking > Settings > Emails page the configuration like this (directly in that email template):
First Name:[name] Last Name:[secondname] Email:[email] Phone:[phone] Adults: [visitors] Children: [children] Details: [details]

  5. When I select settings my server crashes with an "Internal server fault". I am running WP 4.3.1 on a hosted environment. Any suggestions?

    • Hello.

  6. I purchased ([cutted] ) Country Holiday Theme for building a site for a B & B. I've moved the site from my localhost to https://vacliffe.hwy87media.com/ the site.

I bought this because of this function. the Booking calendar plugin.
I have upgraded to the Version 9.Personal.SingleSite.5.4.4 in order to get the the Resources for multiple rooms. I've tried many of the settings but no matter how I tried the calendar does not show up on the site. Either on the page using shortcode or the widget. I'm getting a console error of

ncaught TypeError: jQuery(...).datepick is not a function
ping:1 Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.

If I switch the theme to 2014 default theme it works correctly. There is a conflict somewhere in the theme. I tried turning off most of the plugin with no luck, but I didn't need to turn off any with the 2014 theme.

I tried several of the settings in the Booking Calendar with no luck. How do I resolve this problem. I wrote to the author of the theme, his response was "We don't knowledge about plugin Booking calendar plugin. You can contact with author plugin. They will help you"

  7. Hi,
I'm running Booking Calendar plugin Version 5.4.4.
I setup the Google Calendar sync like this https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/import-gc-events/
but it doesn't work. I created some Calendar events in my Google calendar but WordPress didn't show a booking request.
Is there any kind of log or debug to see what's going wrong?

    Thank you.

    • Hello.
Booking calendar support only import of events from the Google Calendar (not 2 sides sync). Info about it exist in any settings pages at plugin website and at help configuration page of plugin website: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/import-gc-events/ The export functionality exist in our todo list for some future updates of booking calendar.

If you still have issue with importing events, then please check these items.

Please check that you are have some events in the Google calendar that relative to some of your booking resources,
before today date (may be you just do not have there events).

Then please recheck that these events was not imported already as bookings (you can test it with some new created booking resource, which do not have any bookings at all).

Then open the Booking Listing page, click on the "Import" button at the "Actions" toolbar and configure correctly parameters in the popup window,
check the results. Be sure, that selected parameters in the popup window fit to your events parameters.

Also recheck the Sync parameters at the Booking > Settings > Sync page.
      Kind regards.

  8. Hi, I have set up a season filter for my availability which is fine for FULL days.
However, as I run a handyman business and not all my bookings will be going via the online booking system I need to be able to make certain times unavailable/booked.

So to clarify - If i take a booking over the phone or text and put it in my diary i want to be able to easily remove that availability from the online booking system but not an entire day only time slots.

Please tell me this can be done and how.

    Thanks

    • Hello.
Currently the only way to make specific time at specifi date unavailable is to make blank (dummy) booking. You can make it at the Booking > Add new booking page in your admin panel.
      Kind regards.

      • Thats not good at all !
Also as the fields are mandatory i cannot make a "blank" booking.

Is this going to change any time soon?

        • Hello.
Well, at the Booking > Add booking page in your admin panel you can make the booking in 3 clicks.
You can use "Auto fill" button at the top right side of that page for pre populated form field by blank data and make fast booking.
          Kind regards.

          • Okay that is better. Thanks for the tip on auto fill.

However when i did that the booking shows on the calendar in Red as though fully booked for the day.
There is a clock in bottom corner indicating partially booked but it should have a green background not Red.

            Suggestions?

            • Hello.
If yo are using the "starttime" and "endtime" shortcodes for entering start and end times, instead of selections of the timeslot, then please make this fix:
Please open this file ../{Booking Calendar Folder}/inc/biz_s.php

              then find this code:

              if (this.name.search('starttime') != -1 ) { this.name = 'temp'; this.value=''; } // set name of time to someother name if (this.name.search('endtime') != -1 ) { this.name = 'temp2'; this.value=''; } // set name of time to someother name

and replace it to this code:

              // if (this.name.search('starttime') != -1 ) { this.name = 'temp'; this.value=''; } // set name of time to someother name // if (this.name.search('endtime') != -1 ) { this.name = 'temp2'; this.value=''; } // set name of time to someother name

                • Hello.
You can edit your files by accessing the WordPress > Plugins menu page. Then you need to click on "Edit" link under the Booking Calendar plugin.
After this at the right column you need to click on specific file. Then make changes, and after this click on "Update File" button to save these changes.

Otherwise, you need to access those files by FTP. Please contact your hosting provider, about FTP details, if you do not have it.
                  Kind regards.

                  • I have been trying for ages.
When i click update in WP it whirls for ages and then just times out the server.
                    Tried about 7 times now.

                    • Hello.
It's possible that in your sever configuration exist block permission of editing plugin websites. In this case you need to contact the support of your hosting company to resolve this issue.
Or you can try to edit this file by using FTP.
You can access this file at the
                      ../wp-content/plugins/{Booking Calendar Folder}/inc/biz_s.php

                      Kind regards.

                    • after all that it still did not fix the problem ๐Ÿ™

                    • Hello.
Did you made that fix ? Also what exactly version do you use, you can check it at the top right side of General Booking Settings page ?
Also please send screenshot of your General Booking Settings page and configuration of your booking form in TXT file to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com ?
Also please send screenshot of the issue that you are having and link to the page with booking form at the front-end side.
                      Thank you.

  9. Hi,

I'm using booking calendar personal (on my way to buy multiuser version) and i was wondering if i can show a calendar, selecting it by it's title, and not the ID.

    Is it possible?

    Thanks!

    • Hello.
During inserting booking shortcode into the post or page, if you are using the insertion booking calendar buttton in the edit toolbar, then in the popup dialog you will be able to select the booking resource by title of this booking resource.
Please read more how to insert and configure the booking shortcode into the post or page here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/inserting-booking-form/

If you are configure the booking calendar shortcode manually, then its only possible to use ID of booking resource, and not the title of specific booking resource.
Please read how manually to configure Booking Calendar shortcodes here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-shortcodes/

      Kind Regards.

      • Hi,

First of all thanks for yor answer, i wont search anymore, i will do that another way then..

        I have another questions:

1- i'm using the multiuser single site version, but i can't have access to the admin booking page, where my users can manage their bookings. Is there a special page to have access? because when i use https:///wp-admin/ and connect with user credentials, i don't have anything.. I just access the normal site web.
I set on booking->parameters-> users and activate that user, and i have a booking resource affected to him...

2- As super administrator of my web site, i can't assign a resource to a user.. How come? How can i do that?

        Thanks in advance!

        Regards,

        • Hello.
          1)
          A) Firstly, please note, you have to be abale to access to the admin panel of your wordpress website like this: https://your_website.com/wp-admin/
If you can not access to this admin panel, then please login as Administrator user, and recheck that some other plugin do not block access for usual your WordPress users access to this admin panel.
          B) Also be sure that the user role, of the user that you try to access to the admin panel equal or grater than user role that you set in General Booking Settings page, while you was logged in as super booking admin user.

Here is instruction that you need todo:

          - Please log in into the admin panel, as "Super booking admin" user. Open the General Booking Settings page and in the right side at the "Permission section" please set correct user "roles" for ALL Booking Calendar Menu pages access to the booking admin panel.
You can set to all admin menu pages user role as "subscriber" later you can change it, if you will need this.
          - Then open the Booking > Settings > Users page, and activate (if you do not activated yet) booking admin panel for specific WordPress User.
          - Now you can log off and log in as that specific "Regular user". You have the be able to access to the booking admin panel.
          - Then, you can create the booking resources (while you logged in as this Regular User", and then insert the booking form for this booking resource into the post or page. By doing this, you will have this booking resource(s) belong to this specific user.

If you still will have this issue, please send the screenshot, of the admin panel, when you logged in as Regular admin user - where you can not see the booking admin panel, and also please send the screenshot of General Booking Settings page, while you logged in as super booking admin user. You can send these screenshots to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

          2)
Unfortunately its does not possible to reassign booking resources from one user to other user.
You need to be logged in as specific user, and only after this you can create the booking resource(s) that will belong to this current user.

          Kind Regards.

          • 1- Thank you very very much! i had clean login plugin, which was deactivating wordpress admin panel for non-admin users.
But i can't create a ressource from that admin panel?? So logged as "regular user" i can't create a ressource.

2- Even as super administrator of my site i can't reassign a calendar to an user?

3- I was creating with php code a calendar with the following code:
            global $wpdb;
            $update_fields = 'title';
            $update_values = $resume->ID;
            if ( false == $wpdb->query( 'INSERT INTO '.$wpdb->prefix .'bookingtypes ( '.$update_fields.' ) VALUES ( "'. $update_values .'") ' ) )
            bk_error('Error during adding new booking resource into DB' ,__FILE__,__LINE__);
            else
            make_bk_action('insert_bk_resources_recheck_max_visitors' );

But all these created calendar are assigned to the super admin (creator) of wordpress site... How can i apply to a specific user .?

            Regards

            Regards,

            • Hello.
Why you can not create booking resources at the Booking > Resources page with "Regular user" ?
Do you not see the "Resources" menu page in admin panel ? If yes, then please recheck my previous comment.

Or you do not see "Add new resource" form at the Booking > Resources page. If this issues, then please login as "Super booking admin user", then open the Booking > Settings > Users page and increase the number of maximum booking resources for specific "Regular user".
              Kind Regards.

              • Hi,

I set 1 resource per user, that was why i didn't see the button! ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™
                Now it is ok.

The problem is that when my site users (resources) are created, i need on their resume page (frontend site page showing information about the resource and their calendar.
As i don't know the calendar ID, i will have to write on every page of my user the shortcode showing the calendar, with the id...
want it to be automatic, so show the calendar of the curent resume user page...
Do you know if i can fix this?

Again thank you very muck for your quick answering!
                Regards,

                • Hello.
You will be need to make some PHP customization in your user profile.
You need to get the booking resources from the "wp_bookingtypes" DB table, where "user" column equal to the ID of the current WordPress user.
Please open that DB table with phpMyAdmin an check that table structure, so then its will be clear for you.

Please note, unfortunately we can not start, right now, some personal customization or custom development, because almost have no free time. Thank you for understanding.
Please note, if you will modify the source code of the Booking Calendar, we will not guaranteed the correct work of plugin and do not support it.

                  Kind Regards.

                  • Hi,

Thanks again, i will try to fix this, don't know yet how i will manage that...

I have another question, can i disable payments? When i book on site, i have a paypal payment coming on the page...
Can i just have a message like free version "your book is took in account..."

                    Regards and Thank you!

                    Regards,

                    • Hello.
Yes, you can deactivate all payment systems at the Booking > Settings > Payment page,
or you can set the booking cost for specific booking resources to 0.

So then the payment form will not show up after booking process, instead of that will show "Thank you" message, or system will redirect visitor to the "Thank you" page.
                      Kind Regards.

                    • Thank you very much! It works!

Very reactive forum, it is very pleasant!

  10. The legend colors will only display correctly on alternate rows i.e. if a date is booked, the "calendar square" containing the date will be red on the 2nd and 4th rows and only the number (not the square) will be red on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th rows.

Because it displays correctly on other websites, I'm assuming there may be a conflict with the theme - Hemingway.

Any assistance in resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.

    • Hello.
Can you send link to the page, where you are having this issue and screenshot of this issue with your description to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com ?
I do not sure that clearly undertaking you, because legend under calendar can have maximum 4 items, but in your description exist info about 5th element...
      Kind regards.
