  1. Dear Booking Calendar Support:

I have purchased Business Small. I am trying to do something very specific with your plugin. I will attempt to explain. I am working on a reservation system for a billboard advertising company. Their billboard locations are referred to by a unique ID, such as 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and so on.
On occasion they have specific billboard locations available for a short period of time, such as one month, or two months. They would like to offer these billboards as part of a promotion, "Hot Deals." See http://mediaquestoutdoor.com/hotdeals/
I have five test billboards on this page currently, 32A, 35B, 43B, 47A and 50A. You will see from the tabular data that these boards vary on availability, some are available for one month (ie: October) and some are available for two months (ie: October, November).
I would like these board to be available for a 30-31 day block for the one month boards and roughly twice that for the two month boards.
There will be somewhere between 5 and 10 of these boards available at any one time. As you can see on http://mediaquestoutdoor.com/hotdeals/, I have successfully configured the admin setting to show the billboards as a drop down list. I have had as many as five in as a test, but I have recently deleted some. Currently you will see just "32A." I think it is a good user experience where the first step is for the user to choose his/her desired board number, which coincides with location and cost. Once he/she chooses the board number from the drop down the calendar would refresh with the default time block for that billboard, such as one or two month long.
As well, the billboard company will need to approve the reservation, and take care of payment over the phone as they do not currently have ecommerce setup on the site. I have currently built in a 7 day "lead time" for the company to prepare a client's artwork, get the billboard produced, etc.
I am having a difficult time understanding how I control the availability of each billboard, ie: one month, two months, etc. You can see from my example:
32A Available in October (One month contract)
35B Available in October, November (Two month contract)
43B Available in October, November (Two month contract)
47A Available in November (One month contract)
50A Available in November, December (Two month contract)

Can you please assist me in setting this up on the backend? When I try to lay in the date parameters for a board, for example "Available from October 1 through October 31, I get "Available" slots in every following month.
Also, I would like to have these all presented on one dropdown menu and one visible calendar on the page. I do not wish to have small calendars for each of the 5 sample billboards, if I can help it.
I will gladly set up a login to the site if that would be of help to you.
    Again the URL is: http://mediaquestoutdoor.com/hotdeals/
    Bill

    • Hello.

      1) The ability to define as available specific days in calendar (for example available only October and November), possible in the Booking Calendar Business Medium or higher versions. Check more about this feature here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#availability
Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-video-season-availability/

      2) Please note, selections of such days possible via range days selection mode. Check more about this feature here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#range-days-selection
Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-video-range-days-selection/

But this type of days selection (where possible to specify minimum and maximum number of days to select) by default configured for selection for all calendars and its working does not depend from the seasons.

If you need to define the different type of days selections for the different calendars, so then its possible, if you will insert the booking forms into the different pages. Check more about configuration here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/advanced-javascript-for-the-booking-shortcodes/
In case if you need to define the different number of minimum days selection for the different seasons, so then its possible in the Booking Calendar Business Medium or higher versions. Check more here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#advanced-days-selection
But the configuration of such selection a little bit tricky, in the options parameter of Booking Calendar shortcode: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/shortcode-booking-form/#booking-options-condition
And its will work only if you will insert the different calendars into the different pages.

      3) If you need to make the specific number of bookings per days, then you need to check the Booking Calendar Business Large version, where is possible to make several reservations per specific FULL date(s) by visitors (not time slots). Please read more about it here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#capacity

You can test it in the live demo here https://bl.wpbookingcalendar.com/
Watch video about this feature here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/availability-capacity-video-overview/

At this version possible to set capacity of the booking resource, so date(s) in calendar will be available until number of reservations is less then capacity of the booking resource. But its possible to make booking only for FULL date, not a time slots (time slots in this version only saved as data into database, but do not apply to availability logic).
Highly recommend, to check this article about configuration of capacity and availability for booking resources: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/capacity-concept/

      4) So selection of the board number from the drop down in such cases will not work: "...all presented on one dropdown menu and one visible calendar on the page". You can have the selection of boards at one page, and then depend from selected type of board (or clicking on some image/link of such board) redirect the visitor to the specific page with booking form relative to this specific type of board.

      Kind Regards.

      • I am thinking through various scenarios that may work. Per your suggestion 4) above, I may have to resort to putting individual calendars on the various "board number" pages. Those pages already exist so I think I can make this suggestion work.
        HOWEVER:
With more info from my client, it appears that the "Hot Deals" contracts will be one month on digital boards and three months on printed boards. This is not necessarily an issue because we talked about having the individual calendars on the various board pages. But the problem I am having, is they want to be able to "start" the one month period on a random date, and finish it one month later. I just purchased Business Medium. I can use the Conditional Days filter to set up a number of "30 day blocks" that will work. For example, I can start a "block" on November 5 and finish on December 5. That works. But when I view this from the user side, I cannot make selections that span months, ie November into December. I may be able to find a setting that works for this, but ideally, a single mouse click would select the entire block, spanning from one month into another. Can you help with this scenario?

  2. Hello, I would like to know how I can know the payment method used by the client who makes the reservation in the booking list.
    I see unknown payment
    Thank you

    • Hello.

Please note, if you see "Unknown payment" status in the booking Listing page near specific booking, so then its means that visitor close the payment form after creation of the booking,
or system was not redirected from the "Payment website", like PayPal to your website for updating status of payment. Its can be when visitor close the payment website page, after finishing of payment, instead of clicking on "Return to your website" link.

Ideally (for PayPal) you will be need to activate and correctly configure the PayPal IPN system, at the Booking > Settings > Payment page and in the PayPal account. So in this case the PayPal have to send the messages directly to your booking system.

Please be sure that you have correctly entered details at the Booking > Settings > Payment > PayPal page (success url and failed url, as well).

Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-video-payments/

      Kind Regards.

  3. Hi there.

I got a strange question from my client regarding your booking calendar.
    (Version: Business Medium SingleSite 8.2)
    The following should be solved:
You have given a booking period, where you can choose one day.
He now wants you to choose one day to be more expensive than you do in the given period.
Yes, the typical volume discount, but I did not find the setting for that.
How can there be a way to set such a discount?

    Thanks.
    Péter

    • Hello.
If you need to set for one (or several days) different cost than you having right now in specific rate. So you need to remove this day (or days) from the specific season at the Booking > Resources > Filters page. After this create new season filter with this day (days). And then assign new rate for this new season at the Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page.

Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/rates-daily-costs-video-overview/

      Kind Regards.

      • I can not understand it well, so I apologize. So with an example:
Given, for example, the 2018 October to 2018 December period when a day fee of 10 euros is currently.
This is what my client wants to change so that if you only take one night in this period, you pay € 20, but if you have two or more then you're only 10 euros a night.
This can now be solved with maximum custom programming, because I do not think I might have found such a setup option.

        Thanks.

        • Hello.
Thank you for this example, it’s more clear now.

It’s possible to configure such costs via “Valuation days” at the Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page.

You need to have configuration like this:

For 1st day = 20 EUR per 1 day If “Check in day in “Your Oct-Dec season”
Together 2 days = 20 EUR for all days If “Check in day in “Your Oct-Dec season”

Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/valuation-days-cost-video-overview/

          Kind Regards.

          • I was looking for that. For some reason she did not stand in vain looking at it.
            Thank you for your help.

            Peter

            • Hello.
Sorry, I do not understand this clearly.
If you have some issue with this configuration please send your actual configuration screenshots and send the link to your page with booking form, where you are having the issue to support @ wpbookingcalendar.com
              Thank you.

  4. Hi

I have allowed multiple day selection in the Settings so people can make repeat bookings.

However, if someone clicks on multiple days, eg, 27 September 2018, 4 October 2018, 11 October 2018, 18 October 2018 and 25 October 2018, and then chooses a time slot for the repeat event, eg 8am-1pm, it books out 27 September from 8:00 am to the end of the day, and then 4, 11 and 18 October ALL day, and 25 October until 1:00 pm.

In the booking confirmation email and backend it shows as: 27 September 2018 8:00 am, 4 October 2018, 11 October 2018, 18 October 2018, 25 October 2018 1:00 pm (ie, start time only on first date and end time only on last date).

I think this is a bug. Can you help please?

    • Hello.
No, it’s does not s bug - it’s a feature. By default times seletion is using as check in/out time for first and last days.

In your case you need to activate this option: “Use time selections as recurrent time slots” at the Booking > Settings General page in calendar section, if you want to use recurrent time to reserve several days. This means that middle days will be partially booked by actual times, otherwise the time in the booking form will be used as check-in/check-out time for the first and last day of the reservation.

      • Thank you for such a quick response. I'm sorry but I can't find that option in Booking > Settings General page in calendar section. I am using the free version - is that why?

        best wishes
        Mariette

        • Hello.
Yes, that is reason. It’s available in the Booking Calendar Business Small or higher versions.
You can test Booking Calendar live demos at this page https://wpbookingcalendar.com/demo/ to be sure in functionality and do not have misunderstanding.
          Kind Regards.

          • Oh, OK, thank you.

It does seem strange that you can book multiple individual days (eg, all Thursdays) which are not in sequence (like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) but that the times are still taken as check in/out...

            • Hello.
In Booking Calendar Free version for Times bookings you can activate the single day seletion mode at the Booking > Settings General page.

Otherwise you need to check the Booking Calendar Business Small version.

              Kind Regards.

  5. Hello.

The website of a client of mine is using the ‘Business Medium’ version of the Booking Calendar.
The plugin is working fine, but he want to have a solution I cannot help him with.

On the website ‘http://texel-vakantiehuisje.nl/reserveren/’ you can make reservations for specific days of the week. That is working fine. But in the holiday season he want the customer to make a reservation for a midweek or long weekend. These reservations are only possible during christmas season, of easter. But the customer must also make the regular reservations as well. I can make this work in separate calendars, but the client want to have it all in one calendar. He wants this to make it simple for the client.

I have tried the demo version to figure out if this is possible. But I can’t find the right solution.

Is this possible and if so, would you be so kind to help me, but more important, help my client to solve the problem?

    Kind regards,
    Bob.

  6. Hello,

Is it possible to have the availability calendar scroll through more than one year's worth of dates?

We would like to show dates for at least the next two years as people often like to book our hall more than a year in advance.

    • Hello.
Yes, it’s possible. Please open the Booking > Settings General page and in calendar section for option “Number of months”, set value as “3 years”.
      Kind Regards.

  7. Hi, im trying to get the calendar to load but I can only load the form and not the calendar. I get this error in the console:

Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(...).datepick is not a function
I have tried removing any js scripts that call jQuery but it still won't load and not sure what to try next, any idea?

    • Hello.
You are having this JavaScript error at the page
TypeError: jQuery(...).datepick is not a function
because of this error, the calendar is not showing.

This error exist, because you are loading jQuery library second time inside of this file (its at the bottom of the page):
      http://wjhdevelopment.uk/MHC/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Mountain-hall-cottages/js/externals.min.js

Please check more about this issue here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/loading-jquery-twice/

For fixing this issue, you need to remove or comment loading of jQuery inside of that file for second time loading.
Or simply deactivate loading this externals.min.js file at all (if its possible and do not corrupt other functionality) in your header or footer.php or functions.php file of your actual theme.

Otherwise please contact support of your theme, for removing loading of jQuery (second time) inside of that file.
      Kind Regards.

  8. Hello support team,

How would I customize the view of "Day View Mode" so that the left hand column starts with the current date (at the top) and incrementally increase the date by 1 downwards instead of having the same date repeating downwards?

Also, does this calendar view refresh each day (or hour) so that the most current time/date is displayed? If not, how would I enable this feature?

    • Hello.
      1) Probably you are mentioned by "Day View Mode" the "Month view mode" in Timeline ( https://bs.wpbookingcalendar.com/timeline/ ) for one booking resource. Where at left side column is listed days (starting by default from today date), and at right side the times relative to each specific days. So

So in case, if you insert the Timeline for one booking resource you will have probably the view as in your description.
Example of shortcode for such view:
      [bookingtimeline type=1 header_title='All Bookings']

But in case if you will have the several booking resources, so then at the left side can be only titles of booking resources, as in this example https://bs.wpbookingcalendar.com/timeline/

Watch it in this video guide https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/calendar-overview-video-tutorial/

Please note, the Timeline view is useful only for showing bookings on the specific dates.
The ability to select and submit the bookings fr specific dates or times possible ONLY in the inline month view calendar.
You can test Booking Calendar live demos at this page https://wpbookingcalendar.com/demo/ to be sure in functionality and do not have misunderstanding.

      2) By default its start from Today (current day).

  9. I can see how to import the ical feed so that I get the event list, but I want the imported calendar to block off dates which are already booked from airbnb, how do I do that?

    • Hello.
If you have imported the events from Airbnb into the Booking Calendar, so the dates from these bookings must be unavailable by default.

      Check this.
If you do not see the booked dates in calendar at the front-end, please open the General Booking Settings page and in the "Advanced section", please be sure that you have not activated this option: "Allow unlimited bookings per same day(s)". This option must be unchecked. If its checked, please uncheck it and update the settings.
This option "Use pending days as available" must be unchecked, as well.

If you still will have this issue, please recheck for the any cache plugins, like "WP Super Cache" or "W3 Total Cache". If you are using someone, please deactivate it or add the exception to the page with booking form for do not cache this page(s).

If you need to have ability to auto-approve the imported bookings, so then this functionality available in the Booking Calendar Business Small or higher versions.
You need to activate this option "Auto approve bookings during import" at the Booking > Settings General page in these versions of Booking Calendar.
      Kind Regards.

  10. Hello,

I've just implemented your booking form at my site, http://pinkies.pt

Whenever I have a booking, say from the 1st to to 10th, the calendar records as leaving on the 9th. Go ahead and try a test booking. I really dont know how to fix this and it's causing confusion for people booking.

    WordPress 4.9.8
    Booking : Version 8.4

    • Hello.
Please open the Booking > Settings General page and be sure that this option “Set check out date as available” was unchecked.
      Kind Regards.
