  1. Night bookings calculation incorrect.
Hi, I've got a room which:
    1. Charges per NIGHT (so obviously check in and check out is different 'days').
    2. Monday-Thursday (nights) is say $100 per night; Friday (nights) is say $120. Sat and Sun different again (season filters).
    3. Settings: I can use ' Multiple days' or 'Range days' the error is the same.
    4. Check in is set to 15:00 and check out is 10:00.

    ++ error #1 ++ (day / night min stay.)
    - Mouse click the same day twice (example Monday 1st Jan) = $100 [cost hint] but shows check in as 1Jan 15:00 Check out 1Jan 10:00... which is physically impossible. (Range day is set to Min 1{day}). --looks like it does not understanding 1Night min--
    - Mouse click Monday the then Tuesday = also $100 and shows check in 1Jan 15:00 Check out 2Jan 10:00 [this display is good]
++ error #2 ++ (costing The problem happens when the total is calculated.)
    + 1st click Wednesday (night), second click Thursday = $100, check in 3Jan 15:00, check out 4Jan 10:00. [OK]
+ 1st click Wednesday, second click Friday = $220, check in 3Jan 15:00, check out 4Jan 10:00 [wrong] (same thing happens with 'Multiple day' select instead of Range) ---- It is taking the price for the check out day ($120/night) and not the night before ($100). Should be Wed night $100 + Thu night $100 = $200 and check out Friday morning. Instead it is using Friday(night) $120 because the checkout is the morning.
---- The error looks to be in the day night click logic. The same example but clicked order Thu, Fri and then Wed gives the correct result $200. So you can see when the last or first click is a different price range the results are incorrect because it taking the day value not the night before value.

I Looked everywhere for the season filter to be applied to 'night' same as Resource 'cost/night', but can't see anything.

Can you please explain in steps how to set up so charge per night is calculated correctly for room with different prices for days of week. If tried on your demo site and that seems to work correct, but mine not. I copied the settings from demo site as good as I can see. -- Otherwise, What is the best way to reset my sql table for this plugin? I've noticed that my Valuation Days doesn't always take effect. I have to resave the top and bottom save buttons and change the flag to fixrd and back to percentage before multiday discounts are applied (not the errors described above).

    • Hello.
Firstly please note, in the Booking Calendar exist 2 terms "days" and "nigths". For exmaple 2 days (1st of January and 2nd of January) is means 1 night.

      1) The range days selection is setting for days (not nights), in this case, you need to set minimum 2 days selection at the General Booking Settings page in Calendar section.
      2) If you set "cost per 1 night" at the General Booking Settings page, so its means that the cost of the second selected day will be = 0. In your case, if you need to set cost of last selected day (check out) = 0, so then please follow this instruction:
      - please open the General Booking Settings page and in Cost section, please set "cost per 1 day"
      - open the Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page and click on the "Valuation days" button near specofic booking resource.
      Then configure cost like this:
"For" "LAST" day = 0 USD per 1 day.
In this reconfiguration we are using reserved word LAST, which is define last selected day.

During using "Valuation days" please do not forget to activate specific cost row settings, by setting checked, specific checkbox at the left side of each row.
      Kind Regards.

      • Thanks for the reply, I've got the BusMed ver6.2. When I look at your demo BusMed it is alot simpler.
        On BusMed Demo:
        - General Cost section, set "cost per 1 night"
        - Resource #1 ID2 - Rates - check 'weekend' and make $40 for one night.
        Job Done, works as expected.
Why would I need to all the confusing settings in your reply for my version?
Sorry, But I'm just trying to make it work like the demo.

        • Hello.
If you have cost per specific week days the same, so then its will work as in the live demo.
But if you have the cost per specific week days with different cost (depending from the rates), so then such cost configiration can be different in your case.

This issue, because Booking Calendar during calculation cost per night, is set second selected date with cost = 0.
          For example,
let say we are having cost per week days like this:
          Mon = 100 Tue = 100 Wed = 100 Thu = 120 Fri = 150 Sat = 200 Sun = 100

And let visitor select 3 days (2 nights): Thu, Fri, Sat.

In this case, if you will just set cost per 1 night, and do not have any configuration in "Valuation days" cost settings, system will calculate cost like this:

          Thu ( 120 ) + Fri ( 150 * 0 = 0 ) + Sat ( 200 ) = 320 USD

Here second selected day = 0.

If you will configure cost settings with cost per 1 day, and configure "Valuation days" with "LAST" word settings like in my previous comment, so then in this case, system will make cost calculation, like this:

          Thu ( 120 ) + Fri ( 150 ) + Sat ( 200 * 0 = 0 ) = 270 USD

          Kind Regards.

          • in demo site all I do is

            On BusMed Demo:
            - General Cost section, set "cost per 1 night"
            - Resource #1 ID2 - Rates - check 'weekend' and make $40 for one night.

And it works, try it you'll see

            • If you need to have configuration like in the live demo, then
              - please open the General Booking Settings page then set "cost per 1 day"
              - after this open the Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page and click on "Valuation days" button and remove/delete all cost settings from there. Click on Save button.
              - now click on "Rate button" and configure rates for specific seasons, if you need them, or deactivate exist rates.
              - now open the General Booking Settings page again and in cost settings set again cost per 1 night". Test it. It have to work as in the live demo.
              Kind Regards.

      • I just tried your suggestion.
        - General Cost section, set "cost per 1 day"
        - min two days
        - for LAST $0 per 1 day

Now the result is even more messed up:
can't select 1 day (so that works only for range)
        selecting 2days (1 night) = $100
        selecting 3days (2nights) = $100
        selecting 4days (3nights) = $200 (if all same weekday)
        AND!
selecting 4days (3nights) = $220 (if the last day was Friday, ie Thurday night) so it removed a day but still added $120!

        • Hello.
          1) I was thought, that you was need to set minimum 2 days selections for do not allow to select just 1 day, because of comment here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/support/comment-page-56/#comment-13182 (error #1).
And if you are using check in/out times (change-over days), in this case you must to select minimum 2 days, otherwise you can not submit the booking.

          2) Can you send screenshot of your cost configuration from the General Booking Settings page and cost configuration from Booking > Resources > Cost and rates page (for Rates and "Valuation days" cost settings) and link to the page with booking form to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com
So I can test it also.
          Thank you.

  2. Hello,

There seems to be a bug with short code [current_time] on "New for Admin" emails.

The short code is set up like this in the settings for "New for Admin" emails:
    On: [current_date] at: [current_time].
You need to approve a new booking for: [dates]

The email received comes in like this:
    On: June 27, 2016 at: .
You need to approve a new booking for: September 20, 2016

Just seems that short code [current_time] is not working for us. Please help!

    Thank you!

    • Hello.
Please open the General Booking Settings page and be sure that you configured correctly the time format option.
      Kind regards.

  3. Hi! We have used the free Booking Calender sometime now with no problem. But for the last weeks we cant choose date in the calender, and because we then cant make a booking. Any suggestions?

    • Hello.
Its most probably that you are having some JavaScript error at that page. Please recheck your page for ny JavaScript errors and try to fix them.
You can check for the most common issues at the FAQ https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/ at the troubleshooting section.

You can also try to deactivate one by one all your active plugins at the WordPress > Plugins menu. Then retest it again.
If its not help, please deactivate your active theme and active the default WordPress theme. And then retest it again. May be there exist some conflict with some active plugin or actual theme and just need to find the reason of that issue.

If you still will have this issue, please send the link to the page with booking form, where you are having an issue, I will check it then.

      Kind Regards.

      • Additionally please be sure that you did not add the Booking Calendar widget for availability calendar togather with Booking Calendar shortcode in the page.
Please open the Widgets menu and remove the booking calendar widgets from sidebars, if you are having someone.
        Kind regards.

  4. Is it possible when user books some hotel, the hotel receive the booking request and has the possibility to approve or decline. I as an admin, don't have the hotels or services agenda. I need the system to check with them their approval. Besides, I need to know which service or resource was booked.

    • Hello.

Unfortunately, if you need to have the direct connection to the booking system of some hotel or to have submit and sync bookings with hotels, so then such functionality is not available in the Booking Calendar versions. Sorry.

But if you need that managers of different hotels, can access to your website, and at your website to have independent booking admin panels, so in this case you need to check the Booking Calendar MultiUser version. In Booking Calendar MultiUser version possible that each registered WordPress user (your owner) have own individual independent booking admin panel, and can see and manage only own booking resources and some other settings (other owners will not see the bookings from this owner, they can see only own bookings). Please check more here (at bottom of the page) https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/

Also each owner (user) will receive the emails about the bookings of the own service(s) or property (booking resource(s)) and can approve or decline them. Please note, that the each owner WordPress user) will have different individual calendar(s) with booking forms in the separate pages. Please retest it in the live demo. You can read more about the initial configuration of the Booking Calendar MultiUser version: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/multiuser-version-init-config/

Please test the live demo of Booking Calendar Multiuser version here: https://multiuser.wpbookingcalendar.com/
Admin Panel of Multiuser version (here you can test several admin panels functionality): https://multiuser.wpbookingcalendar.com/admin-panel/

  5. Hi, I have been using the free Booking Calendar but today I upgraded to the
    Version: Business Small SingleSite 6.2
    Type: Business Small
    Used for: 1 website
    Release date: 29.06.2016

The only thing im after is I run two cottage farm stays on my property and need the visitor to be able to choose between the cottages at time of booking, as one cottage sleep two people and the other sleeps 5, big difference in price too. So Im having to uncheck all the payment details as it gets all the prices wrong.

  6. Full cost of the booking, something very strange in calculations: I think it doesn't work properly

    Hi Guys,
I've got Business Medium SingleSite 6.2 and the latest version of wp multisite.
I've set new resource, as I noticed already yesterday something strange in Full cost of the booking hints,
It's a test resource, but all the others work in the same way,
I've set the price at 100, without any season filter.
When I go on the page and i move the mouse on the dates, it show me the right price, but if I try to book, whatever period I choose, the Full cost of the booking hints give me back me always the 40% of the sum, that is: if I book 5 nights, the total cost will be 200, if 3 nights 120 and so on.
If I change the price to 200, the total cost will remain 40%.
I've installed woo commerce plugin too.
    Please help me.

    thank you

    • Hello.
Please send screenshots of general booking settings page (cost section) and screenshot of Respurces page and link to that page with your booking form to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com

      Thank you.

  7. I am using business small booking calendar I have added "extra-beds" into the form field and email
the extra beds shows on the form and email but the input amount doesn't show on screen or in either em,ail Any ideas?

    • Hello.
Can you send screenshots of how you configured this "extra-beds" field at the Booking > Settings > Fields page to the support @ wpbookingcalendar.com ?
In general you need to configure field at the Booking > Settings > Fields page in Booking form in the way like this:
      <p>Extra beds: [select extrabed "0" "1" "2" "3" "4"]</p>
and at the "Content of booking fields data" form (its at the bottom of that page), to have this:
      <strong>Extra beds</strong>:<span class="fieldvalue"> [extrabed]</span><br/>
      Thank you.

  8. Dear sir/madam,
I bought the business medium 6.2 version for a hotel.

I have some questions about the idea of how the calendar works, please.
    1. When i click on a specific date and then i reclick on the same date, i notice that this is possible. I understand if it is possible for booking some hours of the same day, but in my case i set up the same check in and check out time, so this shouldnt be possible. The plugin says "Dates: July 19, 2016 12:00 pm - July 19, 2016 12:00 pm (1 - night(s)). Full cost of the booking: $35.00" which as you can understand is wrong, because you check in and check out the same time of the same date! Is there a way to disable checking the same day, when i dont want to work with hours of renting, but only with days?

    2. The way the partially booked dates look like, is a bit confusing in my opinion. Is there a way to edit the line inside partially booked boxes? For example i would like to separate the box in the middle or almost in the middle. Or even better I would prefer if i could make a diagonal line.

    Thank you very much

    • Hello.
      1) you can activate the "range days selection mode" using 2 mouse clicks, and then you will be able to set minimum number of days selections as 2 days. You can configure it at the general booking settings page in calendar section.

      2) You can change the width of vertical lines for changeover days by making CSS customization like this:

Please open this file ../{Booking Calendar folder}/css/calendar.css

then find this code (on line 228):
      .block_hints .block_check_in_out.check_in_time div.check-in-div, .block_hints .block_check_in_out.check_out_time div.check-out-div, td.timespartly.check_in_time div.check-in-div, td.timespartly.check_out_time div.check-out-div { border: 0 none; float: left; height: 200%; margin-bottom: -400%; position: relative; top: -50%; vertical-align: bottom; width: 20%; z-index: 0; }
and replace it to this code:

      .block_hints .block_check_in_out.check_in_time div.check-in-div, .block_hints .block_check_in_out.check_out_time div.check-out-div, td.timespartly.check_in_time div.check-in-div, td.timespartly.check_out_time div.check-out-div { border: 0 none; float: left; height: 200%; margin-bottom: -400%; position: relative; top: -50%; vertical-align: bottom; width: 50%; z-index: 0; }

Here is description, why its does not possible to use diagonal lines.
In the update 5.0 one of the main feature was implementation support of the responsive front-end design - for more natively showing the calendar and booking form at the mobile devices. Its mean that with the new version the calendar can have any width and height. And this calendar width and height you can even define in the booking shortcode to have the specific width and height of calendar on the front-end in usual (not the mobile view) browser window. And this feature is bring restrictions. Its does not possible to define the "triangles" (half booked days) for the any sizes (width and height) for the calendar skins. These triangles can be only fixed. We are spent almost several weeks for searching some solution for still using the "triangles", but its seems not possible. So thats why was made decision of using "vertical lines" instead of the "triangles" for the check in and check out dates. Unfortunately its will not be changes in the future, because the mobile experience is very important.
Also we do not provide the personal customization, because of almost have no fee time, because of working on next update.
      Kind regards.

      • Thanks very much for the immediate support!

So my question no1 is ok.

For my question no2: I understand the difficulties of making the diagonal line because of the changing shape-size of the calendar.
Perhaps you should try and find a way in the future, because it is much more clear for the customer to understand immediately what all those lines means. Perhaps a corner to corner connection line will make a nice image. Even if the day box is not square and it is a rectangle, the lines will still connect the 2 corners, and will still look good in my opinion.

        Thanks again

        • And a last question please:

I notice that that the message after booking is done (action after booking is done), even if the "show thank you message" is clicked, it is not visible. Is there any special action i need to do about that?
          Thank you very much

          • Hello.
You can activate showing "Thank you" message at the General Booking Settings page in "Form section". Please enter there correct number of milisecconds for showing this message, for example: 10000 (its means 10 sec.)

Also if you are using the Booking Calendar Business Small or higher versions and you have activated the "Payment forms" and cost of the booking higher than 0, in this case, the "Thank you message" will not show. Instead of that after booking process, will show payment form.

If you think that everything configured correctly, but still have some issue, then please send the link to this page, so I can test it.
            Kind Regards.

  9. Hi,

We have 3 cottages. We would like to buy the plug-in personal or small business but we would need more information:
    1. Is it possible to show 3 calenders one next to the other? We would like our customer to quickly see which cottages are available.
    2. As for the legend, we would like to specify changeovers (morning and afternoon): box of a changoever days will then be visually divided diagonally as the morning could be available and the afternoon booked and vice versa.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Kind regards

    for Regisland

    • Hello.
      1) Please read firstly the general instruction about usage of paid versions of Booking Calendar: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/general-usage-instruction/

Yes, its possible to insert the 3 shortcodes to show 3 booking forms near each other at the same page.

      2) This feature available in the Booking Calendar Business Small and higher versions. Please read more about this feature here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/overview/#change-over-days

You need to activate the range days selection mode on the General Booking Settings page in calendar section.

After this you can activate the "Use check in/out time" option and configure the check in/out times.
For example check in time as 14:00 and check out time as 12:00.

Then you be able to use the change over days with vertical (do not diagonal) lines as in live demo here: https://bm.wpbookingcalendar.com/

Its means that your visitors can start new booking on the same date, where some old bookings was ending.
      Kind Regards.

  10. Hello,

I'm currently using the latest Business Large version, and am facing a problem.

The calendars are being used for a driving school, and we have two calendars set up =>

    Manual Transmission
    Automatic Transmission

The problem is that Joe (instructor one) can do both Automatic and Manual Transmission whereas Jane (instructor two) can only do automatic. There are only 2 cars, 1 automatic and 1 manual - so if Joe gets a Manual Transmission booking, he won't be available at that time on the Automatic Transmission calendar, and the other way around too, if he gets a booking on the Automatic Transmission calendar he won't be available to do a Manual Transmission lesson at the same time.

Is it possible to merge the two calendars to compensate for this?

Thanks, I very much look forward to your response, this is causing quite a headache for the business.

    • Hello.
Unfortunately, fully automatic booking process for such configuration does not possible to make. You will be need to make 1 manual action - you will be need to make duplicate of exist booking (if this booking was made for Automatic Transmission in calendars of Joe or Jane). The ability to duplicate booking possible to make with 2 mouse clicks at Booking Listing page. Just check if the booking was made for booking resources "Joe" or "Jane" for booking form "automatic_transmission", and then make duplicate of this booking to the new "help" booking resource - "Automatic Transmission" (just select this booking resource and click on "Duplicate" button near this booking).

Here is example of this configuration.

For exmaple let say you are having booking resources with IDs, like these:
      - Joe (ID = 1) - Jane (ID = 2) - Automatic Transmission (ID = 3)

I can suggest that you will be need to create 2 new custom booking forms at the Booking > Settings > Fields page: "automatic_transmission" and "manual_transmission" for detection of what type of booking you visitors was made.

Then you can insert into the 2 different pages the Booking Calendar shortcodes for the booking like this:

      Page ( Automatic Transmission ):
      Joe ( Automatic Transmission ) [booking type=1 form_type='automatic_transmission' nummonths=1 agregate='3'] Jane ( Automatic Transmission ) [booking type=2 form_type='automatic_transmission' nummonths=1 agregate='3']

      Page ( Manual Transmission ):
      Joe ( Manual Transmission ) [booking type=1 form_type='manual_transmission' nummonths=1]

P.S. The trick here is using "agregate" parameter in the Booking Calendar shortcodes. This parameter get all bookings from the booking resource, that specified for this booking resource (in our case, its booking resource with ID=3 - Automatic Transmission. And then add all these bookings to the main calendar (parameter "type"). Please read more about this shortcode here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/help/booking-calendar-shortcodes/
      Kind Regards.

      • Thanks for your prompt and informative response.

Is it possible to get agregate working using [bookingselect] ? I can't seem to get it working.

        Thanks.

        • Hello.
No, unfortunately this shortcode is not support that parameter, because here is setting several booking resources and aggregate parameter is not specify belonging to specific resource.
          Kind regards.

          • That's fine, for the most part it's working now thanks to your always-outstanding support.

            Thanks again.
