Yes, its possible to make upgrade from lower version to the higher versions of the same editions (for example from the Booking Calendar Personal single site usage version to the Booking Calendar Business Small single site usage version).
But its does not possible to make upgrade from the single site usage version to the "developer" or multi site usage versions or from the "developer" to the multi site usage versions.
The cost of upgrade from the lower to higher versions, usually higher than difference in cost between 2 versions.
The cost of upgrade from the lower to higher versions of single site usage versions higher on $20 than difference in cost between 2 versions.
The cost of upgrade from the lower to higher versions of "developer" edition versions higher on $30 than difference in cost between 2 versions.
The cost of upgrade from the lower to higher versions of multi site usage versions higher on $50 than difference in cost between 2 versions.

Each specific version of Booking Calendar can be single site usage version, developer or multi site usage version.
Single site usage version, possible to install and activate only at 1 specific website.
Developer edition version, possible to install and activate at 2 different websites. Its can be test (developer) server and live website.
Multi site usage version, possible to install and activate maximum on 5 different websites.

Booking Calendar "Free" - this version is free, you can download it from WordPress directory.
It's very easy in use and powerful version for the creating reservation of one resource.
At this version is possible to make reservation for the one resource, like a room or car, or some service... etc. You can insert into the post or page the standard booking form with fixed number of fields and availability calendar, where visitor can select single or multiple days. Administrator and visitor can receive the standard email notifications about different actions, like a "new booking", "approve/decline/... of booking", etc... Administrator can make the booking at admin panel at the "Add new booking" menu page and configure the different settings of the booking form and availability calendar at the general booking settings menu page.

Booking Calendar Personal - it's paid version, where is possible to have booking availability calendar for the each of multiple booking resources (like a room, cars or any services, etc…). You can add new and configure exist fields in the booking form. Also you can configure the email templates for the different booking actions. You can able to edit the exist bookings, add comments to the bookings, print and export bookings to the CSV format, etc… Please check at the feature list and live demo of this version, full list of features of this version.

Booking Calendar Business Small - it's paid version, where is possible all actions from previous versions, plus you can receive the bookings for the specific time of date, set the cost of booking resource and integrate the online payment form of supported payment systems. Your visitors can make the rage days selection using the one mouse click in calendar, or setting minimum or sets of fixed number of days selection using 2 mouse clicks (check in and checkout dates), all middle dates will be selected automatically. Also here is possible to use the same date as check in/out date for the different bookings by activating the fixed time at the settings page.
Please note, if you will use the fixed time slot list selection (and not the time entering using the text fields) in the booking form, the timeslot list will be the same for the any date of week, in other words the fixed time slot list is not depend from the week of day. Also if some visitor will reserve the specific time slot at selected date at specific booking resource (calendar), this timeslot become unavailable for the other visitors at this selected date in this booking resource.

Booking Calendar Business Medium - it's paid version, where is possible all actions from previous versions, plus you will have more advanced cost and availability management of the bookings. At this version is possible to set the rates, which will depend from the season filters, plus you can set the more advanced cost for the booking, where cost is depend from the number of selected dates. Also you can set additional cost for the option selection at selectboxes or checkboxes at your booking form. this additional cost can be fixed sum or percent from the final cost of booking. You can even activate and configure for the resources the deposit payment feature, what is mean that visitor will pay at the payment form, the part of the final cost of the booking. This version is also support settings availability per each booking resource, which is depend from the season filters. Also you can able to configure the several customization of booking form fields, it's mean that different resources can have different form fields. Booking Calendar Business Large - it's paid version, where is possible all actions from previous versions, plus you can make the several reservations per the same FULL date (not a time slot) for the same booking resource (availability calendar). At this version is possible to set the capacity of the booking resource, it's mean that your visitors can make the several reservations per the same date, in other words, the date(s) in calendar will be available until lumber of reservations per these full dates is less than capacity of the booking resource. Please note, if you will use the timeslot selection for the booking resource with capacity higher than one, so then this timeslot will be simply record as a data into DB according this booking, but will not impact to the time availability. Also at this version you will be able to search the available booking resources in your pages or posts for the specific check in/out dates and specific number of visitors. Booking Calendar MultiUser - it's paid version, where is possible all actions from previous versions, plus each registered WordPress user of your site can have independent, individual, own booking admin panel. It's mean that each regular registered WordPress user can see only OWN booking resources and bookings and can configure the own booking form fields and email templates, own payment form integration data and costs of booking resources as some other settings... In this version is exist also the "super booking admin users", which can see and manage the bookings and booking resources from the all users and manage the status of other bookings users.     Yup did like the video said. And now you cant book more than 5 witch is the capacity. But if reserve for 3 people the capacity is still 5 ? Something i am missing ?

      1) Please check that FAQ article.
      2) You need to activate this option "Set capacity based on number of visitors" at the Booking > Settings General page in Advanced section and activate this radio option: "Display tooltip on calendar(s) to show availability based on total (fixed) number of visitors for the resource, which can be at free booking resource items."
      3) At the Booking > Resources page be sure that your booking resource have specific capacity (have child booking resources), and maximum number of visitors per resource was set as 1.

    Did check the FAQ qrticle.
    And the general advance page was and is allready set to the options you listed.
    Same for the resources. They are set to max visitors 1. Still it dont register bookings and adjust the capacity?

      In the "Content of booking fields data" form at the Booking > Settings > Form page you need to use this shortcode [visitors].

      Please use shortcode generator at the right side of the Booking > Settings > Form page for the fast and correct creation of booking form fields.

    If a room is booked, the whole house is blocked for booking. Great feature!
    If I export house ical calendar, the blocked (by room) days are not exported.
    Can you offer some solution?

    • Hello.
      During export process, system export only the bookings that exist in that specific booking resource.
      If you are using the aggregate parameter to block some dates in calendar that booked in other booking resource, it’s means that these bookings exist in other booking resource, and that’s why they does not export for the initial booking resource.

      So plugin does not export the bookings for the booking resource relative to the aggregate parameter.

  5. Hi,

    Just purchased the small business version of the booking form. Please can you provide guidance on the following questions relating to the booking form.

    Context: Students booking assessments/appointments questions:

    1. Can students select a specific time on a specific date? Aware of time slots but the timeslots need to be more specific. i.e. date= x time = 9am - not a time range.

    2. There is no availability as multiple students can use the same time and date to book their assessment. When 'availability' is deselected, everything goes to pot. a date cannot be selected by the user.

    Any advice and guidance would be great,

      1) For the times bookings you can select one of following ways to select the times. But in any case, we need to know start time of booking and end time of booking.
      You can use one"timerange" (timeslots) or "start time" and"end time" selections or"starttime" and "duration"of time selections shortcodes or even start time and end time entering shortcodes.       Please note if you will make the booking for the specific time slot, this time slot becomes unavailable for the other visitors for that selected date in the current specific calendar.

      2) Unfortunately, if you need to make the several specific number of bookings per the same time slot at same date in SAME CALENDAR, it is NOT possible in any versions of Booking Calendar. Sorry.

      In your case you can activate the "Use pending days as available" option at the Booking > Settings General page in Advanced section, if you want to show the pending days/times as available in calendars, until you do not approve some booking.

      If you need to make a specific number of bookings per day, then you need to check the Booking Calendar Business Large version, where it is possible to make several reservations per specific FULL date(s) by visitors (not time slots).       At this version is possible to set capacity of the booking resource, so date(s) in calendar will be available until number of reservations is less than capacity of the booking resource.But in this version is possible to make reservation only for FULL date, not a time slots (time slots in this version only record data in the DB, but do not play any logic in reservation).       Suggestion! I can suggest that you can create the booking resource with specific capacity in the Booking Calendar Business Large version for each of your times and then have an independent own calendar for each of your time slots for the reservation. It means that your visitors firstly need to select the times in the select box, where you will list all your options.

  6. Hello,
    I am doing an estimate for a small bakery business website. They would like customers to be able to order bread that will be delivered on a specific date. There will be limited numbers of several types available each day. The owner would like to be able to easily alter the numbers that are available each date. She also wants booking to stop 3 days before delivery.
    Is this something that this plugin can handle?

      In this version it is possible to set the capacity of the booking resource, so date(s) in the calendar will be available until the number of reservations is less than capacity of the booking resource. But it's possible to make booking only for FULL date, not a time slot (time slots in this version are only saved as data into the database, but do not apply to availability logic).

      But please note, the capacity possible to define once per booking resource - calendar, and it's does not possible to change this capacity from day to day.

  7. Database too large?

    We are running into memory problems in our webserver. It reports: "Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted" - and we have increased the memory size to 512MB already

    From our analysis there might be a problem caused by WPBooking ("Request: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?_fs_blog_admin=true
    Referrer: https%3A%2F%2Fourwebsite.de%2Fwp-admin%2Fadmin.php%3Fpage%3Dwpbc-new%26booking_type%3D29

    And in addition: The function update_meta_cache() seems to be the specific problem.

    Our wp-booking database is huge - we are using it since 2013 and have actual booking no. 43919

    Is there a way to reduce the database size by deleting / archiving old bookings from before 2020? Or do you see another way to get things up and running again?

      Please be sure to use latest update of Booking Calendar 8.8.2
      You can request the new update of Booking Calendar on this page: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/request-update/

      Then try to delete all bookings that you are having in the trash. Please open the Booking Listing page and click on Actions toolbar and then click on Empty trash button.

      If it’s will not help, then in the Filter toolbar select to show only past bookings and then delete them. Repeat the step with clear trash from the previous point.

      • Thanks. But this method lets me only delete 20 bookings at a time. Is there a way to delete / archive old boolkings faster? Say, for one whole year?
        And can I prevent WPBooking sending email notifications to all the clients of the bookings that I am deleting?

        • Hello.
          By default it's does not possible. But you can try to make such deletion via phpMyAdmin tool (or some other Database editing tool) at your server.
          Please make backup of your database, before this actions (for be able to restore your booking database if something will go wrong).

          You need to run this SQL commands:

          DELETE FROM wp_bookingdates WHERE booking_date < NOW() - INTERVAL 1 DAY

          and then this:

          DELETE FROM wp_booking WHERE NOT EXISTS ( SELECT booking_id FROM wp_bookingdates WHERE wp_booking.booking_id = wp_bookingdates.booking_id)

          First command will delete all PAST dates (older than 1 day from TODAY), and second row will delete all bookings relative to these booking dates.

  8. How do I enable time selection using the free version of the Calender booking plugin? I see a Time Slots section with options but nothing is active in regards to time slots for each day of the week on my actual calendar booking page using the shortcode. Let me know.

      1) In the Booking Calendar Free version. You need to add the time slots selection options to the booking form at the Booking > Settings > Form page (or activate this field, if it's already added to the booking form).

      2) In paid versions.
      The ability to book for the specific times possible in the Booking Calendar Business Small / Business Medium versions (and in higher versions for booking resources with capacity =1). In lower versions of Booking Calendar (including the free version), it is possible to make bookings for specific times only for specific restricted time-slots.

      Please note if you will make the booking for the specific time slot, this time slot becomes unavailable for the other visitors for that selected date in the current specific calendar.

  10. I have a house for rent, with several different rooms. You can rent the whole house, or just one of the rooms. When booking, you can choose the options "whole house", "room 1", "room 2" etc. I would like all rooms to be shown as occupied in the calendar, when the whole house is booked. As it is now, it looks like all rooms are vacant when the whole house is booked How do i solve that?

      It's possible with aggregate parameter in the Booking Calendar shortcode.

      I will explain it in example of booking separately rooms and entire house. Please note, all such separate properties will be have the separate booking forms with calendars at front-end side of your website. Its means that you can book entire house, or specific room at separate booking form.

      So in case if you want to show as unavailable some dates or times in all calendars (booking resources) if some booking was made in only one calendar (booking resources), so then it’s possible to configure it with “aggregate” parameter in the Booking Calendar shortcode ( its possible in all paid versions of Booking Calendar).

      This parameter make the dates in calendar unavailable if these dates was booked in some other booking resources.

      Example of your configuration :

      Booking resources at the Booking > Resources page:

      - House ( ID = 3 )
      - Room #1 ( ID = 4 )
      - Room #2 ( ID = 5 )

      And you need to insert the Booking Calendar shortcodes like this

      House
      [booking type=3 aggregate='4;5' ]

      - Room #1 ( ID = 4 )
      [booking type=4 aggregate='3' ]

      - Room #2 ( ID = 5 )
      [booking type=5 aggregate='3' ]
      ....

      If some Room will be booked for specific date(s), this dates will be unavailable in House calendar.
      And if House will be booked for specific date(s), so in all Rooms (booking forms), these dates also will be unavailable.
